Christmas

I am hoping to focus during the next few weeks on writing some holiday novellas. It will be my first time undertaking season books, but I am really excited to try something a little different.

In the new year, I am planning on rewriting my "Calling Her Heart" series. I really want to take it in a completely different direction.

There is a lot to look forward to in the next few months.

Endless White

Endless White The Wolf Whisperer Short Story ~ 1 ~ by Angeline Gallant Good morning!

I decided to try my hand at writing a holiday short story and chose to write a book about Chief Long Knife and Gentle Doe when they were younger. I thought it would be a nice addition to the series and would love to know what you think.

Endless White: The Wolf Whisperer Short Story ~ 1 ~

Please send me a message if you are interested in receiving a digital copy of the book to review. I would really appreciate it! I am looking for people who will leave a review on here as well as Amazon. If you message me with your email address, I will send you a PDF copy of the book.

Thank you so much in advance. :)

I am currently working on a really interesting twist to the series and am so excited about it. I can't wait to show you the finished results.

Stay tuned!

Revisions

Hello friends,

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. :) I've unpublished many of my books as you might know because I want to take them in a different direction. I've been drowning in research over the past few months, but it has been paying off.

The Wolf Whisperer series which I published in 2019 is getting a makeover - It is now available as novellas on Amazon and they are in Kindle Unlimited as well. Paperback versions are now available in most bookstores, and independent bookstores & libraries are able to order them as well.

I'm not sure how to go in and fix the description of my book, but The Cry of the Wolf is now a collection of novellas with a bonus short story at the beginning. The updated book is only available in ebook format at the moment, so if you purchase the paperback, it is the original version. (I'm working on that too.)

I'd love to know if you like it better. I have read the reviews and wasn't sure how to fix the book to take care of the readers' disappointments in the story. I think this updated version is much better.

Let me know what you think please. Thank you!

~ Angeline ~

The books in the series are listed below.

THE CRY OF THE WOLF

Captured Heart

Fate's Legacy

Mohawk Valley

Update

Thank you so much to everyone who has been following me. I just took a moment to go through the list and follow you back.

I began reading a children's dragon story to my son but it became so evil we couldn't continue. It went against my conscience to press on although we both wanted to know what happened to the dragon, and my son who is eight years old was terrified although very disappointed as well.

Although I am currently writing "Call Me Cursed," I am seriously thinking about starting to write children's books for my son. I find that although some are cute, many for his age have characters who are rude to their parents or evil that I don't agree with. I mentioned the idea to my son last night and he talked for over an hour about the dragons that should be in the book and told me the entire plot. Unfortunately, I was busy, but promised tomorrow I will type out everything he says. That boy has an imagination!

I am looking forward to sharing with you the results of my son and I's collaboration. My cousin and I are also hoping to start writing books together too and that will be exciting. Hopefully I will finish Call Me Cursed today so I can begin on the new project tomorrow.

Now the question is, should I wait until I can put all the new novels in this series into a boxed set or publish them individually? I am looking forward to hearing what you prefer.

Enjoy your weekend!

What A Discovery!

Today I made a very interesting discovery. There is a website that reminds me of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants - but for books. You register a book, write a note on the front cover along with its unique code and then "send it off into the wild" which means it has begun its journey to places unknown.

How cool for books that have been sitting on my bookshelves for ages - or in some cases, boxes because of "clutter!" I love the idea of these books getting to go on an adventure and be enjoyed by others for free. In fact, I believe authors should utilize this and get at least one copy of their book out there - and then track to see where it ends up.

The whole idea is very cool. So tonight I found a book I've had for years but have not gotten around to read and likely never will at this rate, I wrote in the front cover and included the unique code for anyone who finds it. The entire process was incredibly simple.

Then as I was thinking of different places where I could leave the book I decided to check out the website's forum and read posts about people leaving them in little free libraries - I believe that is what they are called. I've seen them when out for walks before.

The concept behind it is that you take a book - and leave a book behind. Some are really very cute! I did a Google search to see if there are any in my area and found listed on Google a Facebook group dedicated to them in my city.

Bingo!

So tomorrow I hope to go for a walk with my son and get some fresh air while putting out some of the books I have lying around here so they can begin their journey.

I'm actually super excited about this. This concept is really special and I'm so glad to be a part of it. I will be interested to see what type of books are in these libraries and will also be curious to see how long it takes for the books I leave to be "found."

Once the lockdown lifts, it will be neat to drop off books in other cities I travel to as well. Give them their first break out of my local area. If you are interested in participating, the website is www.bookcrossing.com and in the referral part, please put my name, AngelineGallant (no spaces).

Thanks!

Sunday Refletions

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Did you do anything special? I know it is difficult getting out with these lockdowns and I, too, am struggling to find a silver lining. I am not a big fan of venturing outdoors in these frigid temperatures, much preferring to stay indoors with a book.

As you may already know I LOVE genealogy - that is an understatement! I started researching my family tree nearly five years ago and honestly don't know why I didn't begin sooner. If you've read my contemporary romances, you will see I have woven my love of genealogy into the stories. They say "write what you know" and researching the past is something I am passionate - so much so, that there have been times where I have told myself I cannot work on genealogy until I have finished writing the novel I was working it. It worked to give me that shove I needed to get it done - for the reward.

I also love to record cemeteries and my young son used to come with me and try to read the words on the gravestones and loved the flower beds - until he saw a commercial for zombies on the kids' channel and that was the end of that. Now he is terrified to enter a cemetery as, although I cannot blame him for being afraid now, I miss the tranquillity of walking through cemeteries, the urge to remember those who went before and give them a voice heavy on my heart.

Today it dawned on me that I don't have to do everything (I know, it is so obvious but it REALLY hit me). Because of the lockdown, I cannot travel to record cemeteries outside of my area and even if I could, it is next to impossible with my son's current fear. It really hit me that life is short and I am struggling to do so much that I often feel overwhelmed and discouraged. What if I do a smaller part of the big picture and work with others who share the same vision as myself? I personally cannot get to a cemetery at the moment, but others can. I can stay with my son and work on the recording/researching parts. It makes so much sense.

I realized today that I really need a strategy not only for research but also as an author. Trying to tackle everything at once is just too much. I'm sure that if I tackle one area that I know I will be able to succeed in then before the year is out I will be able to see the bigger picture and hopefully have accomplished far more.

So this evening, I took a shower earlier than usual and used those few moments alone to think of the plot of my next novel. I decided that I am not going to waste time anymore doing things I'm not 100% passionate about in the here and now and see if that will make a big difference.

As an author, I try to write as much as I can throughout the day and in the evening until I just can't keep my eyes open anymore but tonight I'm going to sit on my laptop and listen to some music on "youtube" and see if I can write more if my brain associates this listening to music/sitting in the darkness as time to write.

The dog is no longer barking and my son is quiet as he tries to fall asleep. The only sound at this moment is the soft clicking as I type.

I think I just might be on to something.

Have a great evening friends. Thank you for your support.

It's official

I completed "Fighting the Storm" late last night and it will be available to purchase early this week.

"Call Me Cursed" is my next writing project and I can't wait to begin tackling it. The story is set in Canada in the 1950's.

I personally love historical fiction so it feels like a treat to go back to the genre I love most.

Thank you so much for your support - I really appreciate it!

Have a great weekend :)

SO CLOSE!

I'm so close to finishing "Fighting the Storm" I can feel it! I've been pushing myself hard over the past few days writing like a madwoman but has definitely paid off.

My book is set in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada, so last night while writing, I decided to try something different. I put an ocean sounds youtube video on my cell phone while writing my novel on my laptop. I think it really helped actually and I plan to try it again today to see if it really does make a difference.

It was rather amusing because I didn't tell my son I was playing the ocean sounds and he came up to me and said, "I think there's something wrong with my ears. I keep hearing a woosh, woosh sound." It made me laugh.

I am looking forward to starting my next novel which will be a historical romance set in the 1950s. My last historical romances were set in the late 1600s so this will be different but am excited about the project and starting something new.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
