Angel Van Atta writes horror as a way to spread the same kind of hope that she so needed as a little girl and outside of the world of fiction only really ever found as an adult. Angel liked Hope King's review of In The Tall Trees: "4.5 stars! I like the child POV it adds a different story-telling aspect of what is a terrifying situation. My biggest complaint is I wish it was longer.. 100 pages isn’t enough. I need more backstory!!!! Hopefully book 2 gives more closure "

Then in ebbed and flowed, and at time I thought about not finishing it. The ending was unexpected, and, for me, slightly odd, but on the whole I'm glad I stuck with it and finished it. "
