What's News!
Loving her makes him a better man. Can he keep her alive long enough to tell her?

I loved writing this book.
The heroine (Breezy) is loosely based on a young woman I met several years ago. She worked in a gentlemen’s club while putting herself through college. She didn’t want the horrific debt so many of her friends were left with after graduation. She had no help from her family in her goal to get an accounting degree. So she devised her own game plan.
Sometimes our perception of people or occupations are biased by what others think they know or what television tells us is true. I prefer to meet real people and find out their experiences and motivations. What is true for one performer is not true for all.
My heroine is a pole sport performer. AKA pole dancer. Pole work is a sport, soon to be added to the Olympics just like other gymnastic sports. They often get slammed for their performances. But think of the floor performances of the gymnasts? The coy glances, the glittery costumes, the music. Behind all of that is the same dedication and strength of an athlete.
Most people would be shocked at the physical strength required for pole work. I immersed myself in videos, documentaries, written descriptions and reports. I am excited to see that people are finally seeing it as an artistic expression.
I write #romanticsuspense #thriller and #mysterynovels. My books are filled with strong heroes and heroines who are looking for an equal partner in their search for answers, justice and love. The love is everlasting, the romance #steamy and the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. With a personal belief in the power of the chosen family her characters are bound to their circle of friends regardless of the cost or danger and most often a book of their own! #steamy #militaryhero #alphahero #families

I'm so excited that A BETTER MAN is live. This was one of those books that comes from the heart. I hope you love it!!
Here's a teaser.
--------------------
“Miss Richards, are you in there?” Another knock, then another. “Miss Richards, I saw the light.”
Clutching Jethro to her side she crossed to the door. “Who the hell are you and what do you want?”
“A friend sent me to check on you.”
“Who?”
“IrishMist, Ivy. She heard you’re looking for a Dog.”
“And you have one?”
JackDaniels laughed. “I should have known Ivy wouldn’t make this easy. Text her Miss Richards. I’ll wait.”
His sister Ivy, was concerned for her friend, Breezy. Five minutes later the woman in question opened the door, a bottle of wine cradled under one arm, the other arm held tightly against her side and angled away from him. He suspected she was trying to hide a weapon.
“Where’s the dog?” Breezy asked.
He smirked. “Name’s JackDaniels. People call me, Dog as in DogWidABone.”

Almost here!
A lost child and a woman left for dead send Deke Ward spiraling down a trail of horrors in Bernadette Jones latest Romantic Suspense.
Another Night Alone is out for formatting!! I am so excited about this book. In truth it has been coming for close to 12 years (is that a record?). It is my fourth book in the Aspen Gold Series. If you’ve read this series of books you will know they are all standalone, although characters may make appearances in each other’s books.
My four books are like a series inside a series where I have left breadcrumbs in each book for the next. I really hope you like this latest edition.
“If you like your romance with a lot of suspense and a hefty dose of steam, then Lonely Eyes—or really anything by Bernadette Jones—is for you. Jones has an uncanny knack for painting her scenes with an urgency that has the reader at the edge of their seat. Every time I pick up one of her books, I’m sucked immediately into the action and the pages just fly by. Her characters are believably flawed, grow beautifully, and the bedroom scenes are turn-the-fan-on hot.”

Another Night Alone teaser
“Mama, Mama, where’s Pawbear?” the child whispered softly.
“Shush baby, your stuffed animal is here. He’s between us.”
“No Mama, he’s gone.” She knelt and leaned against the hospital bed railing, toward the empty recliner. “He’s gone.”
Struggling to sit, Avie remembered there was a button she could push to raise the head of the bed. Running her hand along the railing she found what she was searching for. She needed to get stronger. What if they came back?
"Mama, why’d he go? I didn’t talk. I didn’t. Did I do something else bad? He said he’d stay. He promised.” LilyMae sniffled, trying to hold back the tears.
The wall sconce snapped on. Deke stood silhouetted on the opposite side of the bed. He opened his arms to her daughter. Avie watched in fear as her child clambered into the arms of the man called Deke, the man her daughter believed was the living, breathing Pawbear from her book.
“You did nothing wrong little Boo, and I didn’t leave. I was here watching over you and your mom. I keep my promises. And I keep secrets," Deke replied.
