Joy Monette is an official editor of eBooks. Recently, she decided to experience life on the dangerous side by writing and publishing her own work. She now has even more respect for authors than she started out with. Which is saying a lot.

Her work can be classified as Contemporary Coming of Age with a liberal selection of warmth, despair, hope, and humor.

Joy grew up in the UK, and on the cusp of adulthood, she returned to South Africa, the land of her birth. She fell in love with its vibrancy, diversity, windmills, and thunderstorms. She is currently busy with a series of three novellas set in Johannesburg during the early 1990s when apartheid was unraveling, and the New South Africa was about to be born.

So writing time is something to look forward to. Also, in the planning phase, I create huge lists for every chapter I intend to write - before I start writing a word. That makes it easy to pick up where I left off. In case that fails, when I finish writing for the day, I create a bulleted list of what I want to say in the next session. Then I simply have to expand on the bullets. Even if it's not-so-good writing, it's still there for me to edit later. I've discovered that if I read through the previous few paragraphs, I often get inspired to continue. Finally, I find that if I force myself to write for fifteen minutes every day (I time it), I usually get to a psychological/emotional place where I want to carry on.(less)
