My second book is now available for pre-order

Pre-order it here!

Synopsis from the website:

"A young mouse-woman named Eris in a variation of Earth where demi-humans (anthropomorphic animals) amuses herself with odd jobs such as foiling anarcho-primitivist terrorist attacks and immersing young men in fetishistic simulations. After a sexual encounter with Vincent Gallo in which gravity is suspended, she meets a pushy bear-man and is fated to have sex with him – on top of that, she journeys back through Hell to get home from his place. There, she meets the serial killer whom she is a fursona of but she also created him by putting hypnotic suggestions inside a self-help book that turns people into murderers. She has a somewhat romantic relationship with her mole-man chauffeur named Beaufort which blossoms into a marriage. The world is announced to be ending soon after. Much confusion and angst ensues. Beaufort questions his gender, gets ill-advisedly taken to a party filled with amoral political influencers in drag and then abruptly dies of a heart attack while Eris is apologising. There is an anarchist off-shoot of society where the demi-humans have left and there may or may not be prejudice against the humans in there. The police have left the world and are colonising other planets in order to replicate the human consciousness and way of life. A misogynistic transgender man is allowed to be part of this space force but after the end of earth, he is found out and is condemned to be a statue in a children’s museum."

Second book dropping soon

My second book, YOU KNOW IT'S BLACK, is being released on the 5th of September and will be available for pre-order soon from the website of the publisher Pig Roast Publishing.

It's a work of surreal speculative fiction about a world where anthropomorphic animals exist alongside humans and a rich mouse-woman named Eris amuses herself with her mole-man chauffeur/partner Beaufort.

Also, I'll be at the Glasgow Film & Comic Con selling books from the Pig Roast Publishing catalogue on the 16th and 17th of August.

I dislike MST3K

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 is one of the worst human creations of all time for the way it has influenced popular discourse on art. B-movies and outsider art are now smugly laughed at by chumps who think they're "riffing". Get real. Affectionate ribbing actually requires some level of genuine affection - some level of genuine artistic appreciation. What a load of snotty bullcrap. And people who laugh loudly and "riff" during cinema showings - what are you doing?

more poetry

Torpor

Field's Melancholic Wound

Your Mortal Decagon

Caesar

UC San Diego Central Campus Station

I'll admit this - my poetry is very much me putting together words because they sound good. They were very impulsively made. There are general themes I had in mind but not necessarily explicit points. I think my favourite poetic text of mine is Imperium because it has the most of a "point", I think. My favourite recent short story is Big Sky but it is my only recent short story so that makes sense. I think a close second and my favourite of the purely word salad poetic works is Your Mortal Decagon. I hope people get a kick out of poetry and I hope they feel good to read aloud. I tend to try to be more cerebral in my prose writing but my process in general is quite improvisational and influenced by chance-based processes such as the I Ching or drawing random tarot cards. The thing is, the poems were an outlet when I wanted to make something and was quite interested in the sounds words made and very general vibes rather than big ideas. Because my third book that I am currently on is an attempt at a Towering Political Epic. And when you're making a Towering Political Epic, you tend to want to save all your big ideas for that. Which is silly but also kind of how my mind works. My attention has been taken up by job-hunting, procrastination and something that I can't necessarily divulge right now. So I haven't even really been working especially hard or at all on my third book. I've had ideas pop up in my head but that isn't really work. One can have beautiful dialogues run through your mind but that isn't worth much in and of itself. Hope everyone reading this has a cool day.

self-help

right-wing self-help: subsume every aspect of yourself to capital

left-wing self-help: your worst, most selfish impulses are actually good

Honestly, Chuck Tingle's public persona/work seems deeply unfunny and also patronising
