There's always something wrong in the text itself that I don't like, bu…moreI do peripheral work on the problem, such as writing about what's not working. There's always something wrong in the text itself that I don't like, but haven't necessarily articulated to myself. The most effective approach is reading it and noticing where I want to get up and go wash dishes or mow the grass just to get away from it. I wish I'd known how to cope with this earlier, since I have a stack of abandoned drafts that could have been whole books. (less)
