It's the day before January 1st and everything is a bit crazy over here, but in a good way. We've got lots of food stocked up for the next few days in anticipation of the family gathering. With plenty to drink and lots of heating it should be a pretty comfortable new year.

I assume this is the start of a joke, but I am afraid it is something much more serious.

This weeks general update finds things to be, generally, good!

I have a new short story being released this week, Donkey the First is looking good for the first quarter of the new year and the RPG book for Caer Innar is also coming along nicely!

Keep an eye on the Synthetic Minds Press website if you want to catch up on more of the Caer Innar world information as I will be updating that alongside the RPG updates.

After being unable to sleep I have actually finished the first draft of 'The Woman In Blue'. Made the front cover for it earlier today, which will be posted up on the Synthetic Minds Press facebook page once the sight is up and running again (apparently its gone down over thanksgiving)

Would love to know what you think of it, so please check it out and leave your comments!

So while I was a little late to the writing party for this year, it was my first attempt at writing something for the event. Rather than doing the full novel I decided to put together a short story from the 'Lost Age' of Caer Innar focusing on a character who will be appearing in later books of 'The Three Crowns' series. (No spoilers but I think she is pretty damn cool).

While it still needs a few finishing touches and an edit, it will hopefully be available as an e-book on Amazon by Christmas, or at the latest very early next year.

Exciting news! Well, I am feeling pretty excited about it anyway. The 2nd draft of Donkey the First has been handed to the editors and test readers. This means as long as I haven't named all the characters Simon, or something equally daft, this book is looking likely to be released in the spring of 2020 with the second book in the series - Rebirth of the Mage, coming out in winter of the same year.

It has been a lot of effort getting this book ready, and as some of you might know this is actually the second edition of the story. That said it is now a very different beast, with roughly an extra 100 pages from the 1st edition making it almost a completely different story. In some ways it is completely different, now that it has been brought into the Caer Innar world. Of course the core characters remain, with a few tweaks, and the overall plot line is much the same but the journey should seem new to all readers of the 1st edition.

So, watch this space as we will be announcing more as we progress with the editing process. We might event release a few sample chapters!
