Ditch your resolution day
There's always a bit of a let down in middle January. The festivities of the holidays are long gone and the New Year's celebrations are over. Today is #DitchYourNewYearsResolution day, but I'm not finding too much to ditch. I didn't really make resolutions since we had such a crazy start to the new year. Instead, I'm aiming for small changes this year, and mostly being more intentional about my time. Leaving off the day job on time and spending time with family, and carving out some time every night to work on my writing projects.

Festival of Sleep?
Today is the Festival of Sleep day. What does a festival of sleep look like? Are people laying around a park covered with blankets? The town I grew up in had a tree sitting contest every year, where people would try to live in the trees along the downtown strees for several days, but it wasn't in January. Maybe its like that?
Or is this something you can participate in from your own home? In that case, I'm totally there! Haha. Lots of craziness in the Mann household this weekend has me starting the new year a little sleepy.

Introducing Peppermint
So Cali has let me sneak in here and take over her blog. Okay, well, I might have tied her up in the back room of the Silver Springs Post Office. But when she came in with a load of letters to go out and they were all about those other books of hers, I had to step in. ;)
I'm Peppermint. Yes, I know. The name is riduculous. I blame my mother. I always say she was young and didn't know any better, but really, she named me after her favorite candy. It caused me no end of trouble in school, so these days I just go by Pepper. Its easier.
Anyway, the exciting bit and why I have Cali tied up in the back room, is: I'm going to have a story in the Silver Springs universe all to my self. Sure it doesn't come out until March, but I'm excited!
And get this: I hear there are VIKINGS. Big, hunky, well hung . . . er . . . um Vikings. Yeah. Sounds good right?
So, go preorder my story so we can find out what happens already. And while you're there, check out the other amazing books in the Silver Springs universe.

Winter is Coming
Winter is the best time of year for readers! We can curl up with a hot beverage and a good book and no one looks at us sideways. I just finished reading Elena Gray’s fantastic book, Willow, which is set in the Silver Springs universe and is super fun.
After some big storms, I lost power over the last few days which was awful and wonderful. It actually made me slow down and read some fiction and play some card games with the family and just do nothing. It was like a mini vacation in the middle of the year.
This month I’m participating in the Reverse Harem Reader Challenge on Facebook. My entry is the Complete Thornbriar Trilogy. If you haven’t read Hailey’s story – Found, Bound, and Saved, this is your chance to read along with some like minded friends. If you have, feel free to join and read again, or check out some of the other amazing books in the challenge.

Crazy Week
Its been a bit of a crazy week here in Cali Mann land. I know taking time for self-care is always the hardest for me. I'm always caring for everyone else. How's it been for you?
In the personal life front, I was offered and chose to accept a day job, which means that some of my upcoming books may be adjusted. So, if you've preordered Seized you'll see that it's released date has been push off until the end of November.
Dark Magic, while still a novella, may have a sequel that comes out next year making it a duet. Greer and her boys have a lot more to say than I thought they would.

Fall is Coming
It's still crazy hot here in Gerogia and autumn is over a week away, but I'm ready. Something about being cooped up in the house for five months plus, has me craving pumpkins and sweaters and Halloween.
And of course since I'm in a fall mood, I've been working on my little witchy novella, Dark Magic. This was supposed to be just a wee short story for an anthology but Greer and her men have taken over.

Freya and I are in the final stages of getting Called ready for release on September 24th. I'm so excited for this mix of demons, werewolves, fast-paced action, and romance. I know you all are going to love it.

Fight Procrastination Day
How do I deal with procrastination? Today is official #FIghtProcrastinationDay so I thought I'd chat about some of the methods I use.
I'm fond of deadlines. I will work really hard to make it by the deadline, and I sometimes use preorders as my own little deadline enforcers.
I also enjoy doing "pomos" - based on the Pomodoro Technique - which are 20 minutes of focused time on one project or bit of work. I set a kitchen timer and when it dings I take a break. I use it to write, but I've also taken to using it for some other tasks like 10 minutes of bill paying. (Haha)
What's your favorite way to fight procrastination?

Thank you readers!
What a fun filled release week for Destroy! Thank you all for your amazing support. For those looking forward to it, the paperback of Destroy should be available soon.
I hope you enjoy this installment on Sasha's journey, and are looking forward to book 3, Ruin. It's scheduled for December, but as always, I'll move it up if it gets finished earlier.
I also expect that Misfit of Thornbriar Academy will be a 5 book series, not a trilogy. Sasha's got a lot of adventures yet to have!

Happy Release Day Destroy
He saw my look, and he flashed me a fang. His dark eyes promised we’d have fun later. “Hey,” Drew said, leaning down and kissing me.
I curled my fingers in his hair, pulling him closer. Our kiss deepened and warmth flooded me. I held him too tight, but I needed his skin against mine. These days, my fears tried to drag me away into the dark but Drew anchored me like the string on a kite. I just hoped that, when the storm came, he didn’t get hit by the lightning. I hated myself for binding him to me. I was only going to hurt him. But I hoped the fact we hadn’t been mated that long meant he’d be able to pick up the pieces and move on after I was gone.
“Get a room,” Alex muttered, turning his face away.
Destroy is available on Amazon and in Kindle Unlimited.
