Born in East Africa and raised in Coventry in the heart of the Midlands, Saz grew up balancing the vibrant rhythms of her Gujarati Indian roots with her British upbringing. This rich cultural tapestry infuses every word she writes.

Meera racked her memory, trying to recall if she’d ever seen him at any of the family gatherings that she had been obligated to attend. She was certain she would have remembered him—that five o’clock shadow on a powerful, chiselled jaw, and those exceedingly long eyelashes that no man had any right to possess were impossible to forget. But most of all, she would have remembered his height. At five feet six inches tall, she was regarded as tall, much too tall for a lot of Gujarati men. Except for Kaushik, who stood at six feet one inch, was as vain as a peacock, and spent all his time at the gym and in other women’s beds.
She exhaled, pushing the thought of her ex-husband back into a mental box. The new project had a lot to answer for. Reading the application brought back memories—painful ones. Memories of displacement, destitution and debt that had grown into… well, into the top end of tens of thousands of pounds. She instinctively touched the diamond pendant on her necklace for comfort.
