Karen Pinney Hockings grew up an only child in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. She was an avid reader with aspirations of one day becoming an author. Her writing career, on the back burner for over fifty years, is about to launch in her early seventies motivated by the need to share a story about the timelessness of love and the heartbreak of loss.

A late bloomer, Karen had her son on Christmas morning after turning thirty-three. She earned her master’s degree at fifty-five. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Hockings, at sixty-seven.

She retired as an executive director in an assisted-living community in 2012 to join her husband in Canada. Since his death, she resides in Tampa, Florida, with her miniature schnauzer, Raleigh, working as a co ...more
