Phil was born in Nottingham in 1949.

During the late 1960s he was involved with a number of projects that had their genesis in the London counterculture and was a regular contributor to the underground press.

A career in software development followed, primarily as an IT contractor working in both the public and private sectors throughout the UK, mainland Europe and United States.

Home is now a Devon village, where his time is increasingly occupied with the St Hannahs series of novels. Amanuensis and Felo de Se are currently available from Amazon, with the next volume to be published during 2023
