“Mothers should be respected, always," she said, her dark gaze unwavering, and the light-headedness sang between Max's ears. "They are the bearers of so many things. Important things.”
Melissa Bobe, Sibyls

“He only held her tighter, not knowing whether to say that he was grateful for her every day, or to tell her that he thought he might have almost died on the front porch just a moment ago, poisoned by thought and saved here and now by a simple act of love.”
Melissa Bobe, Sibyls

“It's not enough to think you're going to bring someone into the world and expect things from her right away. That person needs a chance to form, to find herself.”
Melissa Bobe, Sibyls
