“Kate had been preoccupied since Detective Duncan Ross had left her that evening; she was still deep in shock. The news came through a week later that she was definitely needed in England for questioning. Kate immediately called her lawyer.
“Mr. Collins, hello, it is Kate Walker.”
“Kate, how are you? What can I do for you?” “How did you know that I want something from you?”
“Kate, I do read the papers. I am sorry for you, Kate, your home burning down and then the police finding the body of a woman inside.”
“Mr. Collins, the police want me to come to England. I am terrified, I do not know anything about it.”
“Kate, come home. I will help you. There is no need for you to be nervous, you had nothing to do with this tragedy.”

“The month of August was upon them already. Where did the time go? The leaves were turning that special red—not a bright red or burgundy, an in-between red-and-orange. Other leaves were turning a beautiful golden shade. There was a splash of yellow leaves threading through the branches. Different variations of green leaves remained. The array of colour was breathtaking.
