Leon Acord isn't a household name — but he’s an award-winning actor/writer who's carved out a career on his own terms. He’s balanced theater, indie film, writing & personal authenticity — and he’s written candidly about his journey. He created, wrote & starred as "Nathan Adler" in the streaming TV series Old Dogs & New Tricks (2011-2016) on Tubi & Amazon Prime. Leon has appeared in numerous film and theatrical productions, including portraying Quentin Crisp in Los Angeles and San Francisco productions of Jeffrey Hartgraves' stage hit Carved in Stone, and in West Coast premieres of Message to Michael, Last Sunday in June, Dreamboy, and Thief River at New Conservatory Theatre Center in San Francisco. It was ... okay. It kinda felt like a book written to fulfill a 3 book contract. Not a memoir, more a series of stream-of-consciousness essays. I wanted to like it a lot more than I did.

I would recommend this book, even tho some chapters read as tho she's reciting her resume more than reliving her emotions. But she will always be a heroine in my eyes! ...more

Hmmm. I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did. It isn't horrible. It's readable. I chuckled a few times, but laughed out loud only once. It just isn't as funny as her stand up. Maybe you need to hear her distinct voice? I bet the audio book ...more
