Emma Goude is an award winning filmmaker who emerged from behind the camera to tell her own story. Having had seven psychiatric admissions, she has written 'My Beautiful Psychosis: Making Sense of Madness' to challenge the perception of psychosis as a stigmatising illness. After ten years working as a shiatsu therapist, Emma came to appreciate her experiences in a new way. The word 'psyche' comes from the Greek word 'soul' (Psyche is the Greek Goddess of the Soul) and the word 'osis' which means 'process'. So Psychosis can be seen as a soul process.

Emma is currently writing her next book, 'Tango, Camino, Romeo', another memoir, which is a love quest, pilgrimage and travel adventure taking her through Spain, Guatemala and Argentina. Through

I set out on a quest to find love, after I receive a powerful call to walk the 500 mile pilgrimage, or Camino, to Santiago de Compostela. I do find love, but not in the way I was expecting: I find it for humanity, for my family, my friends and inside of myself. But I was really hoping to find it in a romantic relationship. So I continue on my journey to Buenos Aires where I set out to improve my tango. It is there I realise that if I want the love I crave, I first need to heal the wounds of the past.(less)
