Her other upcoming stories, including Crosse My Heart and Ever If You Wish, have gathered millions of combined views as well.
Devastatingly, writing How To Get The Girl proved to be the most personal and painful journey of her creative life. Her beloved brother passed away while she was working on it, and the book became inseparable from that loss. In the aftermath, her mental health and chronic illness worsened, making it far harder to finish the story than she ever planned. She stepped away from the public eye to give herself space to heal.
When she returned in 2026, early readers of the current draft met it with high praise. But returning also made something clear: she still loves her books, yet novels had taken the center of a creative life that has always belonged to cinema, television, and music.
She is now stepping away from social media and pausing book writing to return to those original dreams. Her books remain an important part of her story: How To Get The Girl is still being developed as a full duology, and The Summer We Turned Thirteen has a re-release planned. She hopes that returning to her first loves will reignite her passion for novel writing when she comes back to it.
