I'm from Oklahoma and I write a variety of genres, from Christian nonfiction to clean fairy tale middle grade, clean contemporary YA, cozy fantasy, and a few other things. Whimsy, wonder, and meaning are what I aim for in a lot of my writing.

Some of my biggest inspirations as a writer have been Auralia's Colors by Jeffrey Overstreet, Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, the Chronicles of Narnia by C S Lewis, Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien, The Princess and the Goblin by George Macdonald, and the Grimm's fairy tales. I also like books by Charles Dickens and Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

In fiction, I tend to read children's books, classics, literary books, and clean indie fantasy.
My nonfiction reading habits are more unpredictable. I like knowledge.

“Writing is a very spiritual aspect of my life because stories were what originally gave me the desire to seek God with everything in my power. Fairy tales, great fantasy stories, and classics, they all helped me understand certain concepts in the Bible, such as developing and keeping a child-like wonder. They gave me examples of what Christ-like sacrifice looked like. I believe those stories glorify God in some way.”
Courtney Kleefeld, A Prayer Book for Writers

“Love is not a feeling in your chest; it is bending down to wash another's feet.”
Andrew Peterson

“A thing resounds when it rings true,
Ringing all the bells inside of you,
Like a golden sky on a summer eve
Your heart is tugging at your sleeve,
And you cannot say why...
There must be more”
Andrew Peterson

“In the fairy tale, an incomprehensible happiness rests upon an incomprehensible condition. A box is opened and all evils fly out. A word is forgotten and cities perish. A lamp is lit and love flies away. An apple is eaten and the hope of God is gone.”
G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy

“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.”
C.S. Lewis

“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”
C.S. Lewis
