Best seller!
Yesterday, on its first full day in the world, The Dream and the Muse hit #13 on the Amazon Best Seller list for Teen & YA Literary Fiction! It also was #4 on the Hot New Releases list for the same category.
I'm so happy to be able to share this story with the world. Madarena and Apophax are dear to my heart and I've spent a long time in their company. Neither of them would appreciate the attention, especially if they were in the middle of a heist...

The Witch & The City - Available for Pre-Order
The Witch & The City (October 24!) is available for pre-order, pretty much anywhere you buy books (unless you buy books from an unmarked van in a shady alley somewhere; no judgment, you gotta get books somehow).
And Amazon has a preview of the first chapter up!

A lovely review
This is a wonderfully lovely blog review. I am so touched and grateful for all the novel's ARC reviewers. It's a strange book and there is much of me in it and the reader love it has gotten means more than I can say.
Thank you all, kind people.

A visual influence for Osylum
I've loved Piranesi's Carceri d'invenzione (Imaginary Prisons) since I first saw them.

How to Pronounce Oneirotheria's Name
I've been asked a time or three, so I'll say there's two main ways to pronounce Oneirotheria (and any others you want aren't wrong).
1. I, with my accent, say it oh-NAIR-oh-THAIR-ee-yah.
2. A more etymological pronunciation might be oh-NEER-oh-THEER-ee-ah (with a soft and breathy TH-).
But as you will, she will respond if she wants however you say her name. And be silent just as oft.

10 years in the making, patiently waiting...
The Witch & The City
is out now!
The Earth has traveled about ten billion (10,000,000,000) kilometers around the sun since I finished the first draft of this novel and I've carried the story every meter of the way. Now it's time to let it go.
Everything I write feels like a collaboration between myself and all of you to create as many versions of the story as there are people who find my work and read it with openness and curiosity. I am deeply grateful to have found so many wonderful partners in imagination. I will never be able to find the words nor have the opportunity to fully say how much I appreciate you all. Thank you.

A Bookstagrammer To Follow - And a Giveaway!
This isn't affiliated with me or South Window Press, but the wonderful Wandering Book Nerd is giving away a copy of The Witch & The City over on Instagram.
Whether or not you want a copy of my book, you should follow her, she's a delightful and insightful member of the Bookstagram community who does a lot of excellent reviews and great book cover pictures. Because the only thing better than a pretty book cover is a pretty book cover in an even prettier Instagram picture setting (that's science, trust me).

A Blog & a Bookstagrammer to Check Out
Shelf Quest has a wonderfully kind review of The Witch & The City, among many others. I recommend following this delightful site's reviews, especially if you are a Francophile!
(As I am--in fact, I was utterly charmed by a recent bilingual review of my book) and recommend you follow that bookstagramner as well.
Confession: While I started school in French back in the antediluvian age, 15 years of not practicing have rusted my skills more than a little. Perhaps 2024 should be the year I pick it up again...
