Containing and Controlling my Creativity
The thing I struggle most with when it comes to writing is how long my chapters/stories become. Recently, not only have I completely changed the format on what I use for writing (Scrivener is amazing, all) but I've also set a goal for an average of 6,000 words for a goal per chapter.
As I'm writing my first draft of Deceit, the second book in The Light of the New World series, I find myself writing much less, but also keeping my story focused and moving forward. There is no doubt in my mind that this is due to my word count limitation.
On top of that, I am writing a lot faster, getting more chapters done. I can usually bust one out within a sitting without feeling I've neglected or rushed someting.
Creativity is endless, and it can be hard for writers to contain and control their imagination. I'm sure there are thousands of ways others control themselves, but I've found this helps me, so maybe it can help you.
Either way, progress is being made, ideas are being explored, and though it is extremely exhausting at times, I am having a blast writing Deceit.
Best of luck to you all. Stay healthy, stay creative.

Sumer Celebration
I've made some solid progress on my second book these last few weeks. I officially have the entirety of the next book outlined, sitting around 70 chapters, with only minor adjustments to make.
For anyone who has written before, there tends to be many unexpected changes that arise, and although I have everything outlined, I am expecting some major changes to happen as I continue to write. Writing is a long, daunting process, and although I truly love it, it can be very taxing. I have no idea when this title will be released, nor what the title will actually be. I do, however, finally have my vision on paper, and that itself is a huge success for me.
That being said, IT'S TIME FOR A BREAK! Time to kick up my feet, enjoy a few good books, catch some fish, lounge in the sun, enjoy some wine, and brace myself for the second phase of this project before it consumes my every waking thought.
I wish you all the best this summer. Stay healthy, stay positive, stay creative.
Cheers

Shout Out for Bloodlines
It's been almost two months now after self-publishing my first book in The Light of the New World series, Bloodlines. It took about four years to fully commit, revise, finish, and publish this book, and I never thought it would be as important to me as it has become. What started as a small hobby eventually spiraled out of control and began to consume every free thought I had. Seriously, ya'll, I've lost SO much sleep over this.
That all being said, I wanted to use my first blog to shout out to those who have helped me get to where I am. To all writers who remain an inspiration, all friends and family who have supported me with my own writing, and for all the creative minds out there who are currently losing sleep over their own ideas...THANK. YOU.
For those of you who have purchased Bloodlines, and/or shown your support by ratings and reviews, I could never begin to make you understand how grateful I am. For those of you who decide they want to take on the challenge, Bloodlines is available in both E-Book and paperback format through Amazon. For those of you who don't want to, I still support your love for stories, even if they aren't mine.
Fans, stay tuned. I'm up to 200 pages on the second book in the series. There are new characters, new problems, and new secrets to unfold. The story picks up right where it left off. Sample chapters will eventually be available for all. (I promise it won't take as long to complete the second book as it did for the first)
Also, I've decided to write a series of short stories within the same world where the series takes place, Navaleth, with a rough draft of the first one completed as of today. These stories will include characters you've already met, as well as introduce the truths about those we've only heard about. All of these stories will take place prior to the timeline where the series takes place.
Questions? Feel free to ask. I plan on utilizing this blog for progress updates as well as answering any questions many of you might have.
Until next time, stay safe. Stay creative.
