Strong Women Lift Each Other Up is my presentation where this author explains how my female fictional characters empower each other with hope and courage. The Moments Between Dreams is a historical fiction story set in Chicago during WWII, and highlights the polio epidemic plus a family’s  escape from domestic violence. You can request a Zoom or in person author talk. It’s a 20 minute photo tour of the book’s timeline from 1944-1955 during the polio epidemic, plus a short reading, a brief book trailer, and statistics on domestic violence trends. Readers can find books of all genres at the October 14th Twin Cities Book Festival, where I will be offering signed books, including The Moments Between Dreams. Plus, pick up Minnesota Stories,  a short story collection of 28 stories set in MN, by 20 women authors based in the Twin Cities. From romance to mystery and adventure, each story is 3 – 5 pages, perfect for a quick read! 

The themes of the novel connect readers to what it was like during the 1940s-50s during WWII and the Polio epidemic. The mother/daughter story explores how domestic abuse complicates family life. Discrimination against women and the disabled was worse back then, but you’ll find parallels to life today. It’s fiction that makes you think!

This August, The Historical Fiction Company created a book trailer for The Moments Between Dreams. It is posted on their #HistFic YouTube channel, plus it’s displayed on Amazon, Goodreads, and Judith’ Brenner’s YouTube channel and the author website. The video also serves as a PSA with multi-national resources to help victims of domestic violence. The book trailer is narrated by the title’s audiobook voice artist. SUMMER 2023

You can visit the St. Louis Park, MN street fair every Wednesday, and I’ll be there June 28 and July 26th between 4 – 8 pm. Also, on Saturday, July 1, St. Paul, MN’s Harriett Island Pavilion will host the Raedial Book Fair where I will have a tent outdoors near the Mississippi River! I hope to see you there to pick up books, either the novel, The Moments Between Dreams, or a short story collection called, Minnesota Stories.

December Award News The Moments Between Dreams Earns a 2022 Top 100 Notable Book Designation

 

Dear Readers,

I’m honored to learn that The Moments Between Dreams novel was awarded the designation, “Top Notable Book in 2022” by Shelf Unbound Magazine, a writing competition.  You can see the complete list of Indie books awarded in this competition below. There were hundreds of entries and I’m thrilled my book was selected. It also was selected by the LaQuinta Library in Riverside County,  CA as its Historical Fiction book club pick for the 2023 Book Fest! I’ll be there for an author signing and discussion Feb. 6th, in person.
