Writing Playlist

I struggle to write with distractions. Television and even music. If there are lyrics, I will sing to them and lose my train of thought. My solution is

1) instrumental soundtracks/music anything that sounds nice or gives a mood that I may want in the scene can help while not distracting me. Love epic sounds from favorite movies. LoTR, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean.

2) Music in another language. My go to is anime/japanese music (lot's of L'Arc-en-Ciel) since I'm not able to sing along or remember most of their lyrics. Also, french music. (Lots of Coeur De Pirate)

3)Classical versions of favorite songs. (Brooklyn Duo)

Goodreads Amateur

Still learning my way around Goodreads as an author and figuring out the forums and how they work. I'm not the most tech savy, but I have a bit of general knowledge that comes from being a 90s kid.

But looking forward to learning.

First Draft of Book II!

First 700 words of Book II are down and it feels daunting.

My process involves a lot of layering. First layer is basic actions/thoughts with lots of wholes and gaps. It feels like an overview, rather than a chapter.

Next draft layers in closer perspectives and minor details, has the characters engaging with each other and events.

Next draft slows down the narrative. Adds in those richer details and emotions. Fills in all the gaps. Once in this stage it's ready for editing.
