While I have considered a sequel, I have also considered changing gears completely. Two other ideas that have gotten me excited are: 1) historical fiction taking place in Nicaragua through the eyes of mothers and daughters, and 2) romantic comedy in modern day Istanbul between an American woman and Turkish man (total shift from Censored!). I was living in Istanbul during the Gezi Park protests and much of the beginning of my book closely mirrors what happened in Turkey at that time. The rest of the book is inspired by events and personal stories of people from Turkey and the USA, as well as other countries, including Nicaragua. The hope for my book is for people to better understand the individual repercussions of silencing free speech and media.
