Rachel Bowdler grew up and still lives just outside of Manchester, on the edge of West Yorkshire. Her books feature queer and plus-size characters finding their happily ever afters. You can usually find her hosting the Swords & Sapphics Podcast, writing under the pen names Bonnie Woods and Bryony Rosehurst, and working as a freelance editor.

Her festive debut novel, Honeymoon for One, was brought to readers in 2022 and became a bestseller in lesbian romance.

“It hadn’t occurred to her that somebody might find beauty in her wobbly lines and accidental splatters. She didn’t know why. It wasn’t as though every painting, every artist, she had studied had been perfect. Perfect didn’t exist in the art world – and yet she expected it, had been taught to expect it, of herself. Why?”
Rachel Bowdler, Paint Me Yours

“Because I don’t like to bother the dead. Usually, when they want to talk, they let me know — but it seems this one wants to be bothered.”
Rachel Bowdler, A Haunting at Hartwell Hall

“Bryce was special, Thea was beginning to realize. She wouldn’t find that same connection anywhere else.”
Rachel Bowdler, Partners in Crime
