I won't give the surprise away, but I wrote the book based on giving a fictional answer to the question over which many have contemplated. That's one aspect of the book, the other is this. I am a rather bold person. Because of this, I'm living on a property that we wouldn't own, had I not been bold enough to ask about it. So, it's benefited me through life... probably harmed me at times, as well. But one day I mentioned to a friend, "If the Bible says, 'the meek will inherit the earth,' then I'm getting JACK!" I may have been even more colorful in that comment. That's when the person I was speaking to directed me to a video that gave a different translation of the original text for the word MEEK. That video was interesting, but upon further research, I found even more information about this word that I absolutely loved. So I incorporated this new understanding into the book. Finally, there's a third aspect to the book that is sort of a running theme or "a call to action" which I conclude with. When Beta readers began to give feedback, it became apparent that there were others like me who were feeling rather disenfranchised. One reader called immediately and asked me, "Where did you get those f-ing words?" I'm sorry if that sounds brash (he's kinda a brash guy anyway), but I was happy to write a book that made "real people" feel comfortable in their own skin and want to say, "I am Praus." (less)
