Close Enough to Burn
I’m launching a new YA romance called Close Enough to Burn and would love to offer you an advance copy if you’re open to reviewing or featuring it on your page!
Here’s a quick peek at the story:
YA romance. A crash. A love triangle. And a girl who stops racing for everyone but herself.
Close Enough to Burn follows seventeen-year-old Isabella Bellini, a kart racer fighting for a spot on the European circuit—while caught between her longtime crush and her quiet, loyal best friend.
Let me know who wants a copy, I would love to share an advance copy with you.

Good things to expect of a world after COVID
When I heard in March I had to stop my life and stay at home, I was devastated. Not only could I not go swimming, boxing or to a bar with friends, but also, I couldn’t travel back home to Venezuela to see my parents.
If you are reading this up to this point, it’s because you felt the same way I did: hopeless. But how do you feel now? I bet it’s not the same as then. We have had 4 months to rethink everything. We became closer than ever with friends and family through Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp…you name it. We contacted friends we didn’t talk to in years to know they were safe. Large companies, like Facebook, organized plans to support small business. The government gave direct monetary help to the people, not the banks. I have never seen so much collaboration in our world before. Now, I know our world will be better after COVID and this is what I see:
1. What we value is most important: PEOPLE, not MONEY.
Our world has been too focused on maximizing money for the last 30 years. This Safe at Home order made us realize that yes, financial situation is hard, but not having your loved ones close to you is much worse.
2. Showing off is GONE
People will stop wasting money on expensive brands. People have been home, wearing the simple clothing each day and missing what they really value: EXPERIENCES. People will spend money on traveling to explore and to really live, not on fancy items.
3. We will have more EMPATHY
Now more than ever we will empathize with strangers, people we would not get before. We have never seen so much collaboration. People who never volunteered, have started volunteering to help those affected by COVID. Coffee shops and restaurants’ costumers have placed orders with the mentality to keep them in business.
It is July, and I am in California and still stuck at home without gyms, indoor restaurants and bars open. And, I definitely have not been able to see my parents, but I know the time will come soon, and when it does, I will be a different but better person. What about you?
