On November 3, 2020, Donald J. Trump is inexplicably re-elected, and on November 4, COVID-20 infects millions.

All those who've decided against emigrating elsewhere (or lack the means to do so) must then defend themselves against an army of COVID zombies that has formed as a result of Trump persuading his followers to drink pool chlorine.(less)

For obvious reasons, I've been reading a lot more politically-focused and antiracism/black American historical non-fiction as of late, including "A Very Stable Genius," "A Warning," "The Color of Law," "The Blood of Emmett Till," and "Have Black Lives Ever Mattered."

And while these books have all proven to be crucial, informative, and quite moving, my mental wellness sometimes requires that I take a break from such heady and depressing topics and read some lighter fiction and more comedic memoirs ("I Can't Date Jesus" and "Wow, No Thank You" were both great reads).

Over the rest of the summer, I'm planning to read any combination of the following: "Know My Name," "Such a Fun Age," "Big Summer," "White Fragility," "How to Be an Antiracist," "I Don't Want to Die Poor," "The Vanishing Half," "Eloquent Rage," "The Silent Treatment," "Friends and Strangers," "Malorie," "Hanging Bridge," "Whistling Vivaldi," and "I'm Not Dying With You Tonight."(less)

Synopsis:

Former journalist Carla Conti (a nom de plume) had just moved back to the US from Europe.
