Nat Love was born in Denver, Colorado to Anthony Jenkins and Jackie Love- Jenkins. After moving to Saint Joseph, Missouri, when she was twelve, she returned to Denver, Colorado after graduating high school.
Deciding to wait to go to college until she could obtain residency in Colorado, she worked and started a new life. After the collapse of the economy in 2009 she was laid off, and returned back to Missouri, where she conceived her first born son. Deciding that it would be easier to stay, she decided to go to college for Criminal Justice. She then landed a job at the Juvenile Detention Center where she worked up until recently (2020), and decided to take a leap of faith with her writing career.
