Christmas Stories for 2020

2020 has certainly been a different year for all of us, but I have written two short stories that will bring you much delight this Christmas.

A TEXAS KIND OF CHRISTMAS is an award winning rerelease from 2019. This book about the historic St. Nicholas Hotel in 1859 won first place at the National Federation of Press Women's Communications Contest. I am excited for you to read these three connected stories!

Then, THE COWBOY WHO SAVED CHRISTMAS has a fun story called "Father Goose." It will be released October 27, 2020. I saw this whole story in my mind and I had to write as fast as possible to get it down.

First, a broken soldier who has lost everything. All he needs is a chance. He finds in a poker game. A long haul that will pay enough to give him a stake.

Add a woman desperate to change her life.

Now to add the magic. Five little rich girls who just want to get home before Christmas. Since I have three grand-daughters a few of the girls sayings were copies from them.

This story came to me almost like a gift in this quiet, worried time and I hope it will make you laugh as a broken soldier learns to care again.

I hope these books will bring you much pleasure this Christmas. Merry Christmas to you all!!

3 Ways to Triumph With Your Writing Dreams

I wanted to share my cemetery story with you this week in honor of Halloween. It isn’t scary in a traditional way, but it was a frightening moment in my writing journey, one where I nearly talked myself out of pursuing my dream of becoming a published author. It taught me a powerful lesson. The part I wanted you to watch starts in the minute 2 mark, but feel free to rewind for the entire conversation. The interview starts with me entering a writing contest before I was a published author. I had worked so hard on the book and went to the awards ceremony with high hopes of winning. The book that later won a RITA didn’t even place in this contest. I was driving home deciding that I wasn’t meant to be a writer and stopped at a cemetery to clear my head and found a message in the strangest place. Watch the interview here to find out how I found triumph through perseverance. We all run into roadblocks in working towards our dreams. I truly believe that is what separates successful writers from those who throw in the towel boils down to three things. 1. Perseverance – Even when you feel like quitting, your next victory may be right around the corner. Don’t let small roadblocks stop you before you reach your goals. 2. Take risks – Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Enter a contest, attend an event to network with other authors, set up a talk about your book at the local library. Taking risks helps you grow whether it is a good experience that builds your confidence, or teaches you an important lesson. 3. Hard work – If what you are doing isn’t bringing results, spend more time on learning the craft, put in the blood sweat and tears to reach your goals. -- Join me along with seven other amazing writers in a chance to win our books. Click here to enter: https://www.writerspace.com/yule-fest... Grand prize—a signed copy of all seven authors’ books will be won by one reader! A Walk Down Main

My Thoughts on Mornings on Main I wanted to share a little video I created about Mornings on Main that released last spring. (You can find it here if you’ve not read it yet: http://geni.us/MorningsOnMain.) Mornings on Main is the first book in this series and it has been really well received with readers with 4.5 out of five stars. My publishers were so happy with the results that they asked me to create a sequel, The Little Teashop on Main, that is coming out next spring with a few of the same characters plus new faces in the mix. I’m so excited that it is already available for pre-order here if you are eager to get your copy. http://geni.us/LittleTeaShop. Buns and Roses Romance Tea The Buns and Roses Romance Tea for literacy this past weekend was so much fun. Thank you to all the readers who came out to support literacy for the Richardson Adult Literacy Center.

The Little Teashop on Main -- A Huge Thank You to my Readers!

It was because of all of my amazing readers that Mornings on Main was so well received last Spring! The publishers were so happy with the book, that they asked me to write a sequel, The Little Teashop on Main. I'm so thrilled to tell you that The Little Teashop on Main is now available for pre-order on Amazon. You can order it here! Three women pledged together in friendship. Maybe I should tell their story. Maybe I’m the only one who can. After all, I’m the one who loved all three. But I don’t fool myself. They don’t belong to me. If anything, I guess I belong to them. A rainy-day ritual—a tea party between three little girls—becomes the framework of not only their friendship, but their lives. Blonde, curly-haired Zoe Alexander is openhearted, kind and free-spirited, but struggles with body image. Emily Waters is shy, diminutive and would prefer to live vicariously through the characters in the books she reads. And Shannon Morell—tall, athletic, strong—has a deep sense of loyalty, but will always fear abandonment. As these three girls grow into women, they forge careers, have their hearts broken, marry and have children, but the one constant that remains is each other, and their regular tea parties. And when the unthinkable happens, the girls sit down to have one final farewell tea. If you enjoyed Mornings on Main, it would mean so much if you left a review on Amazon or Goodreads. Mistletoe Miracles #20 on Publisher’s Weekly I just found out that Mistletoe Miracles was just ranked at #20 on Publisher’s Weekly. Thank you so much for all your support! Appearances: Buns and Roses Romance Tea for Literacy I am excited to attend the 13th annual Buns & Roses Romance Tea for Literacy on October 21, 2018. I always love this event as it gives me time to talk to my fans. Buns and Roses Romance Tea for literacy is hosted by the Richardson Adult Literacy Center. I am joined by some of the hottest romance authors from around the country. You can find out more here: https://ralc.org/buns-roses-romance-tea/.
