Born on Maryland's western shore, L. M. Coulson was involved in the arts from a young age: constantly drawing, performing, crafting, and writing. After graduating with a fine arts degree, she moved to the midwest and pursued a career in graphic design while continuing to practice her writing after hours.

When she's not writing, Coulson enjoys learning new hand lettering techniques, playing video games, and being the Dungeon Master for a small group of adventurous friends.

Something about the hot water and being in a confined space with nothing but your thoughts, perhaps? I've had many a blocker dissolve using this method.(less)

I'm not sure whether it's a curse or a blessing to have such vivid dreams (my husband likely has strong opinions as the one who deals with all my terror-induced screaming), but they have certainly given me some pretty lovely sparks for creativity.

In this book's case, I remember seeing a woman walking through a moonlit forest, and all the shadows between the trees seemed to be following her with an eerie sort of sluggish sentience. I knew instantly that she was ether-touched (yep, the name was cemented from day one), but I didn't know what that meant. I decided to get out my laptop and find out.(less)

Accolades for Ether-Touched!

I am so happy to announce that Ether-Touched has been honored with several accolades over the past few months!

Readers' Favorite Five Stars
"The world-building of Ether-Touched is fascinating and one that fantasy fans will love: the potent potential of ether for both good and evil, abstruse goddesses and their warnings, the tension of noble politics and war, and much more. The complexity of the char

More of L.M.'s books…
N.K. Jemisin
“Tell them they can be great someday, like us. Tell them they belong among us, no matter how we treat them. Tell them they must earn the respect which everyone else receives by default. Tell them there is a standard for acceptance; that standard is simply perfection. Kill those who scoff at those contradictions, and tell the rest that the dead deserved annihilation for their weakness and doubt. Then they'll break themselves trying for what they'll never achieve”
N.K. Jemisin, The Fifth Season

Mary Oliver
“The Uses Of Sorrow

(In my sleep I dreamed this poem)

Someone I loved once gave me
a box full of darkness.

It took me years to understand
that this, too, was a gift.”
Mary Oliver, Thirst

Albert Camus
“You’re worried about getting things successfully done in order to attain some degree of self-worth. Your soul is for sale; You most likely deceive yourself in order to convince yourself. Letting go equals failing, isn’t that right? And you forget outstandingly well, don’t you? You forget that It takes admirable courage not only to try but also to gracefully give up.”
Albert Camus, Notebooks 1951-1959

Victoria Schwab
“I apologize for anything I might have done. I was not myself.”
“I apologize for shooting you in the leg.” said Lila. “I was myself entirely.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
