Bring Back That Magic
Peter Pan lived in a place called Neverland where children never aged and they lived by their own rules. The magic of the story was the excitement of the adventure that entailed danger, treasure and flying into whatever was next. All the adventures in Pan's journey was through the eyes of being a kid. A kid believes and understands magic without it being a learned process but more of a feeling associated with the heart.
This magic is not the type that's of trickery and spells. This magic is that feeling of excitement when you played hide and seek. How about when you built a tent out of sheet covers and electric fans in your home, seeing lights during Christmas, birthday celebrations and fireworks. It can be compared to seeing your favorite cartoons, hearing a favorite song and meeting someone you wanted to meet. All these activities, people and the things associated with them brings on that magical feeling.
As a creative and writer there is a certain reward that comes along with the passion to continue. That's having your audience feel the magic of whatever you are saying or doing. I would love for the audience to remember where they where, what they had on, and the lighting of the scene. Were you singing songs that became the soundtrack to that night? Was it hot, cold and what were you eating and drinking? Who was with you or were you alone? Even better the face expressions full of excitement, did you scream, jump, or dance?
All of these acts come with the feeling of magic, starting when we were kids. Personally I think artists, creators, and writers etc have to bring back that magical feeling. That feeling of enjoyment we gravitate to through the quality of satisfaction we search for. As a creative we have to feel it in our work, in our life and transfer that feeling to the audience. The big stage is life and we the people are begging for an encore of," Bring Back That Magic."
