I stumbled on the idea of Sacred Sensual Living by exploring my lifelong fascination with the relationship between our sensory-rich physical world and my personal spirituality. Even as a kid, digging in the dirt held a sacred feeling. I've used my life as a laboratory to explore how to use my senses to make my days feel rich and meaningful. That's pleasurable, sure, but knowing how to use my sensory experiences to connect to my inner wisdom also empowers me to live as my true self and create a life that feels satisfying, regardless of circumstances.

I love designing fabrics and home-related items, making jewelry, and whipping up al fresco feasts. Creating meaningful experiences has been a recurring theme, from curating multi-sensory gallery

“When you savor life with your senses, every moment feels rich and meaningful. Think about how satisfying it feels to inhale the fresh scent of mown grass or slowly run your hand across a velvet pillow. These sensations are physically pleasurable, but they also provide opportunities for you to sync with your internal wisdom to help you create your ideal life.”

“Our bodies align with these rhythms of life in our footsteps (slow tiptoe or urgent stomp), the sleeping rise-fall breath of your baby on your chest, or a row of oak trees mirrored in a rippling lake. A butterfly’s wings flap every second—flapflapflap—to keep it free-floating through the sky, dipping now and again to kiss sweet flowers. Rhythms benefit from variety too; a gentle spring rainstorm turns dramatic with an unexpected thunderclap.”

“I find sanctuaries when looking up and when looking down. A humble ochre leaf swimming in a puddle elicits as much awe from me as a soaring cathedral. One was built to evoke reverence; the other is quiet and humble, yet to me, both are achingly beautiful. In them, I see the divine light of warmth and love. I feel lifted, comforted. I appreciate their presence in my life, reminders that I am home everywhere I go.”

“In spring, streams gush with frigid waters, and inspired songbirds wake before dawn. Trees come alive with buds that swell and crack open; cherry blossoms, magnolias, and dogwoods seek rays of sunlight that will coax them into full bloom. Green tips poke up from between the crumbling dried leaves of last fall, and the days slowly, slowly grow longer before evening darkness envelopes the subtly bustling earth.
Your sleepy senses wake in tandem with spring, and your body craves new sensations.”
