Shaun Prentice-GregoryHiya all. This is my first post on my first blog ever! Hoping to reach more people in the long run, but for those who are currently following, I appreciate it greatly.

To give a brief background, I am a struggling writer and publisher of two books, Loveless; Book 1 and Loveless: Book 2. Both books fall under the La Mer Series.

The La Mer series are predominantly horror-themed, with elements of drama and mystery involved. My stories have a heavy focus on mental health and how it is treated in society. I have had to deal with poor mental health for much of my adult life and wanted to shine a spotlight onto it without sounding like a documentation. I decided to blend real world problems such as mental health stigma with fictional horror stories, hoping to tell an engaging tale.

One question I'm always asked is if my work was inspired by the pandemic of 2020. The answer is no simply, though I can see how people would assume. The story of Loveless focuses on a contagious mental disorder which is infecting and killing people indiscriminately. Book 1 came out on June 3rd 2020, when much of the world was dealing with the Covid pandemic. I begun my manuscript in August of 2018, long before the recent outbreak. Also, I would have to be some sort of genius to get a 300+ book completed by June 2020, from when the Covid outbreak begun.

With that cleared up, I would really love people to read my work. Any feedback or advice is appreciated, especially regarding how I can promote my work to more people. Currently, my first novel is free in eBook format for one week on Amazon.com. I will place the link at the end of the blog. While it's a slow burn at first, I can assure you will enjoy.

I'm not sure how often I will post updates, I suppose it depends on the level of feedback. I'm always up for answering questions and will link my email at the end.
