Sister Wife
I received a DM from a fellow author and friend concerning a post that I posted last night about having a sister wife. It read, "I love this post but couldn’t understand it completely. Can you please tell me more."
The post is actually promoting "Chasing Oklahoma," the first of three books in the
"Because of You" series.
A sister wife is someone who shares the love of one man with you. She is someone that you laugh with, trust, share your hopes and dreams with.... she is a confidant, sister, and most importantly, a best friend.
This concept does not work for everybody and I get that. It takes special and unique circumstances to make it work. When it works it can be beautiful....

Chasing Oklahoma
I'm so excited about some recent feedback that I received on Chasing Oklahoma. Most readers that message me about the book really hate Shawn. One reader refused to read the second book in the series "Chasing Santa Barbara" unless I promised her that I would kill off his character . Really???? That would be like killing off JR in the middle of Dallas.
I recently received a message from a reader that said She enjoyed the read but she really thought Nicole was nuts. I was overjoyed that for the first time ever, poor Shawn was not the bad guy. When you think about it, Nicole was really the glue that kept this family together. She wanted Taylor to be part of their life and she was not afraid to tell her story. She only hid it because of Taylor. In fact, Shawn was ready to give it all up when he got his record deal because he knew it would completely push Taylor away. It was Nicole that insisted he go to Florida and show her that what they had was worth fighting for.
You get the picture. The sisterhood these two woman had was far more important than the sin of infidelity .
I love and welcome different opinions....Good or bad. I know this life style is not for everyone but I would encourage an open mind. What works for one family doesn’t have to work for you. Hate and criticism is never the answer. If you love yourself you will find it easier to love and accept others regardless of their lifestyle. Don’t judge anyone for the life that they choose, you may find yourself in their shoes someday. Love one another, gay or straight , traditional or nontraditional , or a different race than you.... Regardless of your differences just show some love.

Fiction v/s NonFiction
Have you ever picked up a nonfiction book, read it, enjoyed it, but wandered if it was actually true?
Writing in my opinion is unique to every author. Sometimes I can read a book and it flows well and I can "keep up". Others, well I admit that there are a few books that I have actually read twice because I got lost somehow along the way. Some writers create their characters and some will very often create a character based on someone that they know in real life. Writing is an ART and we are all different. I like a variety of styles when I read.
I read a book recently by one of my favorite Authors. I found it incredibly difficult to keep up with the story. She was all over the place. Very different from her other books. About halfway into the book something triggered a memory and I realized that I was familiar with this story. I keep a log of everything that I read so I searched tirelessly through the log to see if I had read it before. I had not. I completed the book and I admit that I read several chapters twice. It was a beautiful story but I knew there was so much more to it..... And there was.
The foundation of every author is their uniqueness..... embrace it. Everyone has a story to tell.

Plural Relationships
In a recent interview I was ask about my opinion on plural relationships.
I love the concept of a plural marriage. In the right situation I think it could actually be a good thing. There have been many times in my life that I have said, "I really need a wife!" A women is a great asset within a household and two .... well can you imagine???
I think people have a tainted view of what a plural marriage really is. It is not culturally normal or legal in North America. To tell you the truth, I am not sure it is legal anywhere in the world. I need to research that..
The question comes from my recent writing, "Chasing Oklahoma" where Nicole and Taylor share the love of one man but Taylor will not stay in the relationship for fear of how others will view them. It's sad really.... the children born into the relationship are accepting and well adjusted but know the importance of keeping their life hidden from the rest of the world. "Chasing Santa Barbara" will bring this family home.
I wish we lived in a judgment free society but that will likely never happen. I have learned to just live my best life, keep as much as possible private, and do what works best for me and the one's that I love. Consider doing the same.

Riddled with Controversy
Today, I am all over the place. Writing "Chasing Santa Barbara" has been an emotional rollercoaster. It really makes me start thinking about who in the world is in charge of making relationship rules. Who gets to decide or write the rule book on what works for you and your life? If it works for you and your significant other shouldn’t that be enough?
I feel like we often pause our own life and happiness just to please other people. Would they do the same for you? My guess is no. I think we should do what makes us happy. In "Chasing Oklahoma," I get a lot of negative feedback about Shawn. Shawn is madly in love with his wife....and another women. His wife accepts the relationship and the two of them move forward and build a beautiful sisterhood. They are happy together as a family so why does this make HIM the bad person?
"Chasing Oklahoma," is riddled with controversy and it is not for everybody. This is a story about forgiveness and unconditional love and a families determination to stay together. I hope that this blog reaches you before you read the book. I really encourage you to have an open mind about their relationship. Remember, this family has kept this secret for decades for fear that the rest of the world would criticize them. How sad is that?

Soul mate
Have you ever stopped to wonder, is a soul mate real? Do they exist in the real world or is it just some made up story to make us feel better about the partners that we chose or the path that we took in life? And what about fate? Does fate exist? I struggle to answer these questions that I so desperately deserve to know, yet every day I feel a little further away from the truth.
Sometimes I think that a relationship is what we make of it. If we want it to be perfect and we work at it then it should be perfect, right? Not always, but we are all in a hurry and unwilling to put in the time and energy that it could take finding that perfect mate.
Writing "The Sin of Innocence" made me think about all of these things. The truth is...,..I have no freaking idea if a soul mate is real! I would like to think that they exist but.....do they?

My Blog
Let me begin by warning you that my blog will be all over the place. I am passionate about so many things and when I blog I do it as it comes to mind. I promise to be entertaining but I cannot promise that you will always agree with me. Secondly, my book editor is expensive and she will not be editing my blog.... so there you go. I needed to tell you all that just in case the occasional misspelling or punctuation error sends you over the edge.
A little about me. I grew up on the East Coast and I currently live in Lake Tahoe. I love to do anything outdoors, hiking, biking, boating etc. Running is a disease for me. I run 5-8 miles daily depending on the day. I attended the University of South Florida and have a Bachelors degree in Physics. I am a registered Sonographer and traveled for my job for 15 years.
Here is a tid bit about me that is riddled with controversy ..... I'm a Carnivore....... Hells bells, I had someone block me on Twitter today because I confessed that I only eat meat.
I am passionate about change. How we handle and view change. This is a loaded topic, I know that but I think it’s time to start the conversation. Everyday I will blog about a different topic in this direction. Please hang in there with me even if you don’t agree. Your opinion matters so please feel free to comment anytime.

Unconditional
Unconditional....What exactly does that mean? When I think of unconditional love I think of an unselfish heart that belongs to someone who is willing to love without expectations or conditions. A mother's love for her child comes to my mind when I think about it. To love without judgement or criticism , is there anyone out there that is willing to do that anymore?
I feel like the world has changed so much. Technology is changing the way we think, the way we date, and even intimacy. In years past if we wanted to meet someone we would go out with friends, dance, or sit at a bar and wait for someone to start the conversation. These days we download a hook up app and hope for the best. We don’t engage in conversation and we likely never see each other again. We are becoming antisocial and introverted. When we finally do meet someone that we think we want to spend the rest of our lives with we are unwilling to love unconditionally because lets face it, if it doesn’t work we can just stroll down the app and find someone new.
This is a deep conversation I know and many will disagree with me. That’s okay, we are all different and what works for some may not work for all. If you want unconditional love you need to love unconditionally . You won’t likely find that in the App store.
