For my first entry I'd like to post an excerpt from the beginning of my memoir FROM THE CYCLOPS CAVE: A BRAIDED MEMOIR, so you can get a taste of the book's two different narrative strands. One is in the voice of the child I was in '50s and '60s California, and the other, my adult perspective while living in solitude in a primitive hut. On that remote Cycladic island I swam, hiked, drank homemade tsipouro (my neighbor's) and, in my journal, reflected back on that boy's turbulent younger years.
The excerpt is published in BOOK GLOW, a book review periodical.
