Guillermo Sánchez Rodríguez nace un lejano sábado de 1978, de madrugada, cuando el encargado de repartir los apellidos estaba ya sin imaginación. Aterrizó en este mundo en Madrid, ciudad que le ve crecer y en la que continúa viviendo.

Avanza cual funambulista por los estudios hasta por fin licenciarse en Ciencias Químicas. En este sinuoso camino de juventud se va llenando la cabeza de múltiples referencias artísticas. Estas comienzan a relacionarse entre sí, presentándose unas a otras, mezclándose, dando a luz ideas nuevas, argumentos, personajes e historias que van, unos muriendo, y sobreviviendo los más fuertes, en un claro ejemplo de selección natural.

Enamorado de cualquier expresión artística narrativa (música, cine, literatura, teatro…) se alimenta de cualquiera de ellos a los que tenga acceso mientras llega a la época de supuesta madurez. Una vez con el título más importante que posee, el de marido y padre de una parejita niño-niña, siente la necesidad de dar salida a ese universo que va haciéndose fuerte en su interior. Con nulo oído musical, incapaz de tocar una guitarra, la única salida que tiene ese universo paralelo interior es sobre un papel en blanco. Al escribir, sus ideas salen vestidas de todas sus influencias, desde Harlan Coben a Nirvana, de Reverte a Calamaro.

Sus textos no intentan innovar ni alcanzar la gloria narrativa. Escribe como piensa. Simplemente cambia el punto de vista del cuadro que todo el mundo ve desde la misma silla. Desde este nuevo ángulo, sus historias y personajes alcanzan a sorprendernos y captan nuestra atención, pasando hojas sin fijarnos en el tic tac del reloj. Entretiene, y ese es el objetivo último del autor. Entretener como objetivo vital de cada letra que escribe.

Su debut literario, “No habrá más domingos” se publica en 2020 en ediciones Click (perteneciente al Grupo Planeta) dejando un hueco en su cabeza que inmediatamente ocupan nuevos argumentos y personajes que allí habitan; creciendo, reproduciéndose, mutando… hasta que se produzca, o no, quién sabe, el parto de una nueva obra.
