A FAMILY AT WAR

A true gem of a true story. follow the lives of a close English family of five from the start of WW2 to its ending. Experience life in wartime England, as seven-year-old baby sister Carol is evacuated from the city to the country. while elder brothers Robert, 18, volunteers into the Royal Airforce as ground crew and William 17 after failing his medical, becomes a cook in the Royal Navy. While Roberts girlfriend Betty, stays behind and becomes an air raid warden. William soon finds himself on convoy duty in the north Atlantic, escorting Merchant ships bringing food from North America.
We follow the wartime experiences of the three siblings. The carers not feeding young Carol, who resorts to stealing food from the kitchen at night. Robert’s bravery under constant enemy fire from overhead passing Messerschmitt’s as he and his crew zigzag between the strafe on the runway, to save their pilots from their stricken Spitfires and towing them from the runway. While Betty faces the blitz of the German bombers at home.
Young William’s experiences of being torpedoed by a German U-Boat and rescued by a Canadian freighter. he spends six weeks in a Montreal hospital from his injuries. Returning to England on a Canadian convoy ship, he is torpedoed again, rescued by the same freighter, he is soon back in Canada as a displaced British serviceman, where he this time finds romance in the form of Cynthia. Returning to convoy duty again, to be torpedoed again, he is soon back with Cynthia.
Follow their exploits in this charming story of love and tragedy. An emotional story, unlike any other world war two story, with no control of their lives discover who are the survivors and losers in this unusual deadly game of survival.
