Jon Cameron

In my humble opinion, Jon Cameron is the hub that keeps the Percivious wheel in motion.

Head of Proteus, leading drug company in 10 years time, his innovative albeit controversial leadership has placed him at the top of the pharmaceutical pyramid.

While his motives, character and scruples are lacking, you can’t help but be impressed with his ability to down scotch while keeping several moves ahead, as he uses people as pawns in a race for a drug that can beat the growing plague of insomnia.

Jon is difficult to hate as we learn of his background and loyalty to his self-selected brother Will. And as we witness his pivotal exchanges with Cooper, we can’t help but wonder which path he will take.

“You will live to regret this, Cooper. I have finished better men for less.” John replied in a voice devoid of the malice he felt. – Percivious Insomnia

Where will Jon’s loyalties lie when everything is at stake, including his life? Find out now in Percivious Insomnia.

Ophelia Sasaki

Ophelia is larger than life in the Percivious trilogy. In fact she is our heroine…as least our human heroine.

Ophelia is forced to battle a situation that grows bleaker by the second as the ticking time bomb of an insomnia pandemic threatens human existence across the globe. Her commitment, love and dedication to the XYZ hybrid patients she studies is unmatched. It is Ophelia who holds the key, specifically the intimate knowledge of the XYZ, that sets a course that will change civilization forever.

Ophelia, our trans heroine becomes caught up in the very worst kind of danger brought about by high worth individuals and corporations seeking a payout on a pandemic. What at first seems straight forward soon becomes murky in the waters of trying to do the right thing.

As the trilogy progresses so do the stakes for her research, safety and eventually her life. However, she never loses sight of those most important to her nor the value of a human life, regardless its genetic markers.

“That’s fine. We’ll wait. We’ll wait all day and night and then some, if we have to. Do you have somewhere else you need to be?” She asked her questions laced in sarcasm, already knowing the answers. – Percivious Insomnia

Is Ophelia successful in saving her life’s work and the hybrid XYZ? Does she set them all on a path for destruction or lay the ground work to overcome disaster? Find out now in Percivious Insomnia.

Dr. Cooper Delaney

Our Dr. Cooper Delaney is the very first character introduced in the Percivious Trilogy.

The very first chapter of the first novel of the trilogy, Percivious Insomnia, has him waking up groggy after a fitful night caused by a recurring dream – the contents of which he does not share.

Soon our good doctor, Big Pharma company Proteus’ drug dynamo, is running into a real life nightmare as his new wonder sleep aid, Noctural, runs into a snag. Despite successful preliminary trials, Noctural fails to work for a test subject with chronic insomnia and other people suffering from sleep deprivation and inevitably it falls to Cooper and a handful of invested individuals to figure out why.

Figuring out why is made excessively difficult given that Cooper is “…a perfect stereotype, the alpha male: cocky, with confidence verging on arrogance, looks to match, and just enough sophistication to get laid in NYC.”

But there is far more to the story than initially meets the eye, and soon the mystery behind what is causing the insomnia threatens to rob Cooper, Mandolin Grace (a rising star reporter) and the rest of our diverse cast of characters of not only their sleep, but potentially their lives.

“Yes. Right now, you are wondering why you lost the upper hand in our little exchange, and while it bothers you, you can’t help but respect the fact that it happened. Admit it, you might even like me. At the very least, it is killing you to know why this cup is in pieces on the floor—so I think I will just keep that to myself.” – Percivious Insomnia

Will he figure out what’s causing Noctural to fail? Will his compulsion to compete and desire to win have him left out in the cold? Find out now in Percivious Insomnia.

Big Indie Books Features Percivious Trilogy Playlist

This week check out the Playlist for the Percivious Trilogy featured by Big Indie Books!

The Percivious trilogy is a lost tale from the 80s, steeped in history from hundreds of millions of years before, recovered now, in our present day, with a playlist to match. The essence and inspiration behind the plot, the characters and their predicaments are clearly inspired by some key songs and artists from the decade referred to as “the revolution of pop culture”. Add to that, past and recent tracks which also echo the creativity and disillusionment of the decade, and you have an epic playlist for an epic sci-fi adventure.

The collection selected for our genre defying trilogy also defies genres of music and time-period. It’s a read (and a listen) that provides a true escape from time and space, in stereo. Check it out live here!
