in 2024, Panoply published this piece, which was written in perhaps 2008 or so, about a deck we (sadly) no longer own. I think the prose still has a lot of emotional truths, though.

A different perspective on WW2 and the Holocaust from someone very similar to Anne Frank but who survived and thus has the luxury of being able to reflect on her experience and choices after the war. Really worth reading.
