I have lived and worked in Schenectady, NY, the Adirondacks (Tupper Lake), and Queens/Long Island. Had a satisfying career in the field of Human Services, working with individuals who had a variety of disabilities. Passionate about protecting human rights, especially the right to live full and meaningful lives, for the disabled and all other vulnerable populations. I have a wonderful husband, four fabulous children and their partners, and four amazing grandchildren. Blessed in many ways!

I wanted to show what life is like for a disabled person and the richness of the relationships formed in a setting like a group home. I also wanted to portray the polar opposite of evil encroaching on such a vulnerable setting. Many of the things portrayed are drawn from real life. I hope the reader is left with a deep respect for those with disabilities and those who are caregivers, and a satisfaction that is only delivered with a suspense filled plot and resolution. (less)

I actually received a request for more books about JJ, the hero in View from the Fishbowl who has disabilities. People wanted to know what happens to him next, and so did I! So the next book in the series will be out around the holidays. I will another suspenseful mystery and JJ will find his limitations continue to frustrate him, but also that his humanity and resilience are his superpower.(less)

“I know a way to stay friends forever,
There's really nothing to it,
I tell you what to do,
And you do it.”
Shel Silverstein

“... and she loved a boy very, very much-- even more than she loved herself.”
Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree

“Dear ignorance, I’m disowning you.
Dear knowledge, I’m wooing you.
Dear understanding, I’m seeking you.
Dear wisdom, I’m wedding you.

Dear fear, I’m divorcing you.
Dear courage, I’m courting you.
Dear hope, I’m pursuing you.
Dear love, I’m marrying you.

Dear past, I survived you.
Dear present, I’m ready for you.
Dear future, I’m longing for you.
Dear destiny, I’m coming for you.”
