I was born in Los Angeles, California after WWII. My father was who was among the first men trained to fly the new B-24 Liberators and B-29 Superfortresses in the Pacific War had flown 81 combat missions by the time the war ended.

Mac who was now a lieutenant colonel, worked at the pentagon until he was appointed air attache to Indochina. We moved to Saigon, Vietnam in 1955 when I was eight years old and it was a magical time. We visited all over the Far East.
