When It Rains…
Here’s a quick update from somewhere nice and warm! Thought I’d stop in for a brief catch up – life has been so crazy busy lately, but I’m not complaining. The publishing world works in funny ways -what I’ve learned in the past ten or so years, is that one must just keep at it, keep going, keep writing, solely for the love of it. Like anything else in life, you’re juggling all these little…

Those Beautiful Closed Doors
Merry Christmas, dear readers! As I write this, I imagine you all as we are – filled with delicious food and desert and wine and plopped down in front of the television. My son is home from Denver and has declared a “History Week”. As it stands, we are watching Gladiator (we watched this in the theater over 20 years ago), and will most probably move on to Gladiator II and Shogun and Rome.

Honesty & A Book Release
Happy Sunday, everyone. I’ve lost my husband to Football season, the sun is shining despite the high winds and I’ve locked myself inside my home as ten wild turkeys circle around my yard, waiting to eat me. Somewhere Along the Way released last Tuesday, September 24 while I was at my nephew’s wedding in Vancouver. Those who know me know that I typically run away on my Release Days – I’…

Slow Down Summer
Welcome to Summer! Since our last blog entry, I’ve celebrated my 60th birthday, vacationed in the Philippines, traveled for work to New York and Toronto (more than once), received the award of my life, spoken at a Youth Leadership Conference and finished my latest book! Needless to say, I am so ready for an uneventful summer. Visiting my sister and seeing all of my family after…

This is The Year
Something big is happening this week! And it’s taken me a few months to process. I am turning 60! There’ve been so many steps to get here. It’s a young culture, you know. So much emphasis is placed on looking young, acting young, thinking young. And although I hardly feel my age, there’s no denying. I am at that age. So, how does one getting this old finally come to terms…

This is A Happy Post
Hope you’re all having a great 4th of July holiday. Before anything else, I’d like to THANK YOU, dear readers for all your love and support during the release of My Goodbye Girl last June 6th. This book managed to keep its #1 New Release flag for a whole month, and I am beyond (surprised) and grateful for the reviews we’ve received so far. There’s nothing like writing about pieces of yourself and...

Faith in Fate
I have so many words, I don’t know where to start. Many years ago, I was one of a handful of people privileged enough to be called to our church for the “washing of the feet”. It was a time in my life that held great meaning for me – the humility that I felt at having the priest wash my feet, just as Jesus did for his disciples to symbolize both servanthood and forgiveness.

Doing It My Way
Happy 2023! I hope you’re all having a great start to the New Year. Here I am in sunny (windy) Isla Mujeres, having the most creative spurt I’ve had in many months. 2022 felt like a whirlwind. A rollercoaster of emotions and change that happened so quickly, it felt out of control at times. I was lost in a sea of change, coming up for breath for a second or two, and then going back to fight against...

Life in the Midst of Loss
My first blog post for 2022 and on my new website. I’m so excited! Time has just flown, hasn’t it? And in that six month period since I last wrote, my life has changed in so many ways. In February, I found the courage to walk away from a work environment that just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t looking for anything just yet, and still they found me – one phone call from two amazing human beings and three...

2021: The Year that Was
Merry Christmas! Hope the clean up wasn’t too bad – that the messy dishes weren’t overwhelming and you ate all that desert by yourself. Hope you also had the presence of mind to keep a large garbage bag close as the kids opened up their presents. Hope you went to bed and left that mess behind – the wrapping paper and ribbons and store boxes and gift bags – strewn all over the living room...
