Hannah Byron writes about cultured, well-bred women who begin inside gilded cages and become fearless — a baroness, a ballerina, a countess, a girl raised for drawing rooms — and about what it costs them to step out and act.

Born in Paris in the mid-1950s to a British mother and a Dutch father, she grew up with strong ties to France, the UK and Holland, which continue to inspire her work. After decades of balancing life as a mother, university professor and translator, she is now a full-time author.

Her first fourteen novels followed the women of the Second World War, in the Resistance Girl series and Timeless Spies. Daughters of the Armistice moves back a generation, into the years between the wars, and begins with Rosamond Cadden — a Blooms
