Olívia S. Zanini, also known as seademons, has been writing for the LGBT community since 2009. Passion and love are always at the very center of her works, but something else lurks beneath the surface too—something dark and twisted that just doesn’t sit right. The protagonist isn’t always the good guy and the love interest isn’t always who they claim to be. Through the lens of unreliable narrators, it’s up to the reader to see through the veil. No matter the amount of angst, hurt and pain these journeys might bring, one thing is always accounted for: couples will get together in the end. The LGBT community deserves happy endings too.

I think there are many facets to love and a certain deepness that people are too uncomfortable to explore. The uncanny valley between genuine love and possession, love and hatred, love and jealousy, love and greed, the good and the evil... I like stepping between the lines and blurrying them. Was it ever really love? Every light casts a shadow. (less)

Considering they're all projections of myself, what does THAT say?) While the unreliable narrator is my favorite to write, I have to say their counterpart can be just as fun, even if their interactions are always the slowest, most arduous process to perfect! It takes a lot to make it just right. (less)

It's so refreshing to read something good. The leftist messaging only made it more enjoyable.

On a more personal, perhaps less relatable note, I picked this up because it broaches the same topic as Babel by R. F. Kuang. While both books are about anti

Quotes by Olívia S. Zanini  (?)

“Sometimes a lie is just easier to deal with; more manageable than real life, not as messy. Contained. (...) Sometimes it's safer to do it too, like a shield over someone you care about, or a shield over your own image. It depends.”
Olívia S. Zanini, How to Kill an Angel

“(...) the dust of light freckles across his nose, the fullness of his lips, and the color of his skin, as tan as a summer day, practically golden; beautiful and perfect. It squeezed his chest, crushed his heart, and drowned him in a flood of memories that had taken him far too long to forget, pulling at the scab of a newly reopened wound.”
Olívia S. Zanini, How to Kill an Angel

“There's nothing better than knowing someone cares about you. That they're thinking about you even though you're not there, and are looking forward to seeing you again. (...) there's nothing better than that. Just knowing you matter to somebody else.”
Olívia S. Zanini, How to Kill an Angel

“I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.”
Oscar Wilde, The Happy Prince and Other Stories

“I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.”
Edgar Allan Poe

“The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.”
Douglas Adams, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

“Marcela amou-me durante quinze meses e onze contos de réis”
Machado de Assis, Memórias póstumas de Brás Cubas

“I have nothing to declare except my genius.”
Oscar Wilde
