Although the book itself is somewhat clunky, the premise is a definitive solution to the question, "How could anarchy work as the ideal social structure in a technological society?"
As a life-long freelance artist I would live pretty much as I do now, but without economic, bureaucratic and competitive restraints that plague and limit every society on this planet. None of this bullshit (government, money, religion) exists on Chiron. I would also have (as would everyone) a friendly, quirky robot helper to do the grunt jobs and connect me to everyone else in a highly functional world where the only restraint is a limited imagination. Am waiting for small, affordable hybrid or electric SUVs and a return of income from my teaching and Air BnB rental. And a better economy. And an end to anti-social distancing. So yeah, there's some hope we'll see each other again. There is always hope! Maybe that's why we say, Happy New Year? Take care, love, Mernie (less)

The 'fish out of water' trope is rarely done this well. It was like Kalaine was mining comedy gold not out of dirt, but out of precious stones. Her writing, concepts and insights sparkled. Anyone who reviewed this as 'boring' likely needs more gratui ...more

I loved this book. It was funny, charming, sad and clever... but the overwhelming feeling I’m experiencing as I sit down to write this review is anger.

This was a fun, speedy little read like a pallet cleanser between doorstoppers. Loved the mashup of sci fi adventure, a spy novel and very well done cheesy romance. Add a ballsy, take no prisoners heroine who is also funny as hell and you get a crash ...more
