Command (Hearts With Teeth 2)
The human female tried very hard not to look at him. A tendril of curiosity lifted its ugly spike and Threxin, following it, reached a finger up to catch its sharp tip beneath her chin. He held her there, threatening the fragile skin so that she could not move. Then, slowly, he pressed, tilting her face up beneath the spike of his fingertip.
Her eyes remained down even as her chin lifted, thick lashes splayed over fleshy cheek-mounds, but eventually with a confused andamusinglyangry look she flicked them up to his.
He almost startled out of it when he saw the black of her pupils expand so suddenly. All at once, in nothing but a blink, the green-brown iris was no longer there and all that was left were two black voids, inviting him to claw inside them and see what was to be found.
Command: Secret Alien Romance is a steamy sci-fi romance and the sequel to Colossal: Dark Romance in Deep Space.

She tried very hard not to look at him
She tried very hard not to look at him. A tendril of curiosity lifted its ugly spike up at him and Threxin, following it, reached a finger up to catch its sharp tip beneath her chin. He held her there, threatening the fragile skin so that she could not move. Then gently, gently, he pressed until she could do nothing but lift her face beneath the spike of his fingertip.- Excerpt from the sequel to Colossal
Her eyes remained down even as her chin lifted, thick lashes splayed over fleshy cheek-mounds, but eventually with a confused andamusinglyangry look she flicked them up to his and thats when he tried his experiment, capturing her attention before she could escape again.
It was pure instinct, really, how he went about it. It didnt work on his own kind, of course. He'd only heard legends. He'd never tried, considering there had been no one to try on. But something inside Threxin's ribs guided him. His attention first unfocused, fuzzing at the edges as he fell into the brown-green of the females confused gaze, and then oscillated back, making the circle of his vision precise as a laser-guided needle honing in on its mark.
He almost startled out of it when he saw the black of her pupils expand so suddenly. All at once, in nothing but a blink, the green-brown iris was no longer there and all that was left were two black voids, inviting him to claw inside them and see what was to be found.
Something warm slid down his finger and he registered vaguely that it had to be blood. It took Threxin a few confused ticks to validate that he had indeed not moved to pierce her. Instead it was her leaning forward, dragging the underside of her own chin along the sharp peak of his finger until blood slid to his knuckle. Forward, forward, those black pupils came closer as the human was the one that fell after all.
White heat flashed in Threxin's eye sockets, clattering against his skull and tearing him away in a blinding flash. He jerked back, then jerked again as the sharp movement drew more pain from his chest wound.
"Shoq," he swore, slamming the heel of his palm to his forehead.
"Shit," she mirrored.

The human female was nervous
The human female was nervous. The redness that had spread on her fleshy upper face was a telltale sign of discomfort, as was the way her eyes kept shifting from one spot to another, refusing to linger on any part of his exposed skin.Excerpt from the sequel to Colossal
Threxin sighed as she pressed a damp cloth to the dry aperture beneath his chest. It ran diagonally from his sternum to his hip and, being among the largest on his body, was especially prone to dehydration. The warm moisture induced a carnal relief that felt entirely inappropriate, perversely drawing out the cyan glow within.
He had been nervous, too, to have those weird hands do their work on him. It was wrong to have anyone other than a parent or mate care these sensitive parts. They had flinched shut at the humans first touch, and Threxin had to force himself to relax enough to open to her.
At first, he had half a mind to wave the female off and do the job himself, but he had already moved too much. The wound beneath the synthskin plaster in his chest had cracked, weeping at the edges.
But while he, too, avoided looking at the female at first, Threxins eyes were repeatedly drawn to those small fingers with their blunt claws. They were nimble and delicate--uncertain at first, though the female had apparently done this many times in the past days.
But now he was awake, and the human sensed the awkwardness of the situation as well as he did. They were both gritting their way through it without complaint, and as the ticks passed her touch grew more confident, falling into practiced, assured motions.
Too assured. Threxin hissed as she pressed the cloth too hard to the aperture, and she flinched back immediately: Sorry.
She should be. The jolt in his core was far from welcome. The way his apertures parted instantly against his will was even worse, and if he were human he would surely have reddened at this point as well.

Colossalis coming
His pupils were pins flicking between her eyes with an intensity she hadnt seen even when they sparred. She sensed that they were both poised on the precipice of somethingthat he was waiting for her. Had been waiting for her./ Excerpt from Colossal: Dark Romance in Deep Space
I dont know why I want this, she exhaled the admission in a rushed whisper.
Orion reached up to cradle her jaw with an enveloping hand. His palm shifted, the grip intensifying into a firm vice. He bent to her ear: It's because were the same, Kaia.

Colossal (Hearts With Teeth 1)
"So weak... Why does it make me want to break you all the more?"
Kaia had a plan, and a darn good one:
- Seduce the future commander of Colossal, the biggest colony ship in the known universe.
- Infiltrate his world to aid her warlord boss in seizing the colony's boundless riches.
- Secure her Upload to Heavenwhere her brother awaits her.
The plan unravels when Kaia discovers her mark is an uhyrea terrifying blend of human and alien. Orion Halen inherited the alien rage, depraved passion, and splintered boundaries of his ancestors: beings that had reduced Old Earth to cinders with their physically addictive magnetism.
But against all reason, a perverse craving within Kaia yearns for a taste of the volatility within him. His glacial eyes track her like he's hunting. Like she's prey. His hunger is a wildfire that that threatens to consume her, and her first instinct is to run. But in the clutches of an uhyre, running is an invitation to get chased. Caught. Consumed.
Kaia must focus on her mission and resist the raw attraction threatening to fray her own limits. But desire burns hottest in the depths of darkness. And things are poised to get very, very dark.
Colossal: Dark Romance in Deep Space is a steamy full-length novel that weaves ice-chilling deception with scorching attraction, brutal revenge with insatiable passion.

Downfall (Hearts With Teeth 0)
Unknown vessel, leave Arvex Station Atlas territory immediately. Or just stay very still, maybe.
Tez and her silent enemy had been at each other's throats for months, trying to shoot each other from the orbit of Arvex.
She always thought of the intruder as it because they were taught to eschew the enemys humanity for as long as possible. Shed studied its flight patterns intricately maybe a little obsessively. It was an objecta target.
But then her target sent both of them crashing to the surface of the uninhabitable planet she was meant to be guarding. Now, trapped together in the remnants of a cramped fighter craft, Tez finds herself face-to-face with her enemy for the first time.
Fear grips her, yet it's not his forceful grip on her wrists as he towers over her that sends shivers down her spine. It's the electric charge that crackles between them, immobilizing her under the weight of his penetrating gaze.
Tez has been suppressing her compulsive curiosity about who exactly was in that enemy cockpit for weeks. Now, she's faced with the real thing... And he might be her downfall.
Downfall: Enemies to Lovers Sci-Fi Romance is a steamy novella in which seething animosity intertwines with undeniable desire within the tightest of spaces.

A snippet of something new
"Wait," he commanded behind her, and Kaia's first and only instinct was to stop in her tracks and obey the assured steel in his voice and the tightening of his grip on her hand.
She'd almost forgotten that the hand, large and warm around hers as it stroked lines of fire along her skin with a thumb, was attached to an entitled asshole who waved his chips around, looked down on her and everyone at the station, and didn't listen to a word she said at the bar. She saw the way his eyes had glazed over even as he plied her with more H2O. She accepted it: if he wanted to not-really-listen to her rambling for an hour in exchange for free water, she'd take it.
But when he yanked her backwards, spinning her toward him, and she was faced with the solid expanse of his chest and that coffee-and-mint scent, something deep in her belly contracted. And when she glanced up through her lashes and got a glimpse of the column of a strong neck and straight jaw and chiseled cheek in the shadow of the narrow passage, something lurched between her legs for just a moment.
She must've been drunk because Kaia suddenly found her back pressed against the cool, sloped wall, hard hands driving her up a few inches with the wind knocked out of her. She normally had good reflexes, yet there she was. She forced her hand, which had instinctively shifted to the knife sheathed in her thigh pocket, to remain still. This was good. This was what she was working towards. His hungry eyes flashing in the shadows, pinned to her lips. His Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. His lips parting as he raked a hand up her side, barely brushing the side of her breast through her jacket, fingers sliding along her jaw to touch her chin, which she instinctively lifted toward the man hovering over her before dipping her head at the terrifying view.
God, hes beautiful.
Orion's face was a mess of contradictions: narrow, elongated eyes which she knew were blue even though they were nothing but two black shadows above her now. Pitch black hair. Full brows. A perfectly straight nose, a little flat. His full lips, flawless skin, and fresh mint scent were almost delicate... exquisitely designed. But the rest of him was all male. The angled, heavy bone structure. The bitter coffee overpowering that mint. The predatory hunger that zeroed in on her mouth and the firm, insistent fingers that kept pressing, tracing along the line of her throat.
