Born and raised in Lakeville, Minnesota, Michael developed an interest in writing when he was nine years old while messing around with his dad's typewriter, pretending to be Kolchak. He grew up playing video games with his two brothers and loves anything Mario. This led to his first stories being written about Mario and Luigi going on random adventures, until his mom told him to make up his own characters, and so he did.

Throughout the years he continued writing, gaming, and his love of reading, which captured his imagination. He obtained a bachelor's degree and taught fourth grade for a few years before deciding to follow his true passion for being a writer.
