Joy Makumbe is a qualified Civil, Water, and Sanitation Engineer, with over 18 years of experience in the field. She has successfully led project teams in Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

During this journey, Joy realized that young girls lack role models in the Science and Tech fields to look up to. This inspired her to write her first book, TECH GIRL DIARIES, to motivate and inspire women and girls to take up STEM careers. Her vision is to see more women in Africa take up positions of impact and influence in the Engineering and Science fields.

Joy is a seasoned lecturer. She has lectured in the Civil Engineering Departments of the University of Zimbabwe and the Harare Polytechnic College.
