Release new book 1/25/22
Volume two of Rise of the New Arcana releases on January 25, in both eBook and paperback, with audiobook estimated to release around April 1.
Great news about the audiobook, not only do we have the return of the amazingly talented Stewart Daniels, we have the dulcet tones of Ania Hejnar joining the team to bring your favorite female characters to life.
This last year putting this book together helped me better understand the writing and production process, and the effect of the unforeseen on timetables. I didn’t anticipate delays from personal illness, family illness, and a very challenging and time intensive experience in my other career. This year I will say my free time was on back order. All I can say is that with every setback, illness or loss, it has increased my personal sense of well-being, appreciation for friends and family, and the support of all of the readers who through email or reviews, let me know how much they enjoyed the first book, AFB.
The submissions by Cosplayers and artists from around the globe of my characters has been both humbling and heartwarming. I pray that it continues, and will continue to share the submissions I receive as they help bring the characters we all love from fantasy into reality.

Thank you all for stopping by. This last month or so has been interesting as I am wrapping up book two, and my original website crashed and burned. The good news is that now the new one is up and running, although it will always be a work in progress, much like my writing.
For those of you who may not have visited my first site, let me explain that The Rise of the New Arcana series is meant to have something for everyone, whether you love to read, enjoy creating or looking at art, or live to cosplay or game. There are now, and will always be submissions from people who have enjoyed my fiction in the FanArt section and Cosplay section in the Gallery. The interpretations I receive now always make me smile, and sometimes inspire me to go in new directions with my writing.

Welcome to the online home of author Ron Randall, creator of the Rise of the New Arcana urban fantasy series. Thank you so much for being interested enough in me, to take the time to get to know me better
Um, I’m frightfully boring, sorry about that.
However, if you an interest in magic, fantasy, the supernatural, mystic swords and even mythical martial artists, a few Fae, and more witches, wizards and fantastical creatures that you can count, there may be just enough to keep you enthralled for the length of a commercial, because, hey, that’s what this, right? You have the time to learn a little more about the sponsor—me.
I won’t bore you with a life spent in college, a little service to my country courtesy of the US Army, and a career in sales, management, marketing and merchandising all of your favorite products for the home—because no one reading this really cares about that. We all have to make a living. I am still active in that part of my life, so I can afford the opportunity to flesh out this part of my life. The fun part. Creating worlds, and characters, creatures, systems of magic and combat.
Like so many other authors, and yes, it took a while to come to grips with that term for myself, without my inner smart-ass scoffing at me from the balcony over there, you see it, high up and on the left. If the muse is living in your head and you don’t put it on paper, in song, in dance, in some sort of medium where it can be released and breathe into itself a little life, both you and muse will end up in an eight by eight with padded walls, and lovely white jackets with especially long sleeves. Um, so here I am.
My site may be a wee bit different from some other author sites—some of you may love it and some may hate it, but as the all-knowing says, it is what it is.
I love reading, writing, gaming, art, acting, song, dance, cooking…almost any creative outlet. What I wanted to do with my fiction was create an environment where readers could find a magical adventure to discover, artists could find characters they wanted to draw, paint, or digitally design their interpretation of the characters, and where cosplayers could bring their favorite character to life. I also wanted to create a framework that would lend itself to role-playing games, where those with the flame could turn my framework world into an experience which they could be a part of, dwell in, and enjoy the ride.
My first series, the Rise of the New Arcana, is composed of five novels, and as they release don’t be surprised as you see fan art submissions, cosplays, and videos of characters reenacting their favorite scene pop up here on the site. Also, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see character collector cards, a tabletop game, and even a full-fledged RPG turn up over the next three years as the series comes to life.
Come on in, pull up a chair, grab your favorite beverage, and share the ride with everyone that wants to immerse themselves in a one of a kind fantasy experience. It might be wise to tip your hat to the lady next to you, since in my world, the fairer sex is often the fiercer one.
