AUSTIN RYAN was born and raised in Norway, she has no previous experience hunting for magical cats in the English countryside, but after a childhood of desperately longing to be English, she accidentally wrote a novel about a wealthy heiress, a magical library, and the opportunistic dock-worker both author and heroine falls madly in love with. The Fairshaw Library is her second full-length novel.

Austin lives in Connecticut, surrounded by overflowing bookshelves, Christmas lights, and sparkly things.

When she is not editing words for other authors, getting lost in their stories, or writing her own, you can find her on adventures with her very favorite child, painting things that don’t need to be painted, and spending hours down by the ocean.

"ARC Review ✨
This book had everything you'd want in a romantic comedy! It's book 2 in the series but can be read by itself! Romance without the spice reminds me of Hallmark movies 😍 It reminds you of how cozy the feeling is of falling in love without " Read more of this review »

George Carlin
“People say, 'I'm going to sleep now,' as if it were nothing. But it's really a bizarre activity. 'For the next several hours, while the sun is gone, I'm going to become unconscious, temporarily losing command over everything I know and understand. When the sun returns, I will resume my life.'

If you didn't know what sleep was, and you had only seen it in a science fiction movie, you would think it was weird and tell all your friends about the movie you'd seen.

They had these people, you know? And they would walk around all day and be OK? And then, once a day, usually after dark, they would lie down on these special platforms and become unconscious. They would stop functioning almost completely, except deep in their minds they would have adventures and experiences that were completely impossible in real life. As they lay there, completely vulnerable to their enemies, their only movements were to occasionally shift from one position to another; or, if one of the 'mind adventures' got too real, they would sit up and scream and be glad they weren't unconscious anymore. Then they would drink a lot of coffee.'

So, next time you see someone sleeping, make believe you're in a science fiction movie. And whisper, 'The creature is regenerating itself.”
George Carlin, Brain Droppings

Corrie ten Boom
“Do you know what hurts so very much? It's love. Love is the strongest force in the world, and when it is blocked that means pain. There are two things we can do when this happens. We can kill that love so that it stops hurting. But then of course part of us dies, too. Or we can ask God to open up another route for that love to travel.”
Corrie Ten Boom, The Hiding Place: The Triumphant True Story of Corrie Ten Boom

Elizabeth Marie Pope
“I've never thought of you like that,' said Christopher. 'How could I? If you were any other woman, I could tell you I loved you, easily enough, but not you-- because you've always seemed to me like a part of myself, and it would be like saying I loved my own eyes or my own mind. But have you ever thought of what it would be to have to live without your mind or your eyes, Kate? To be mad? Or blind?”
Elizabeth Marie Pope, The Perilous Gard

C.S. Lewis
“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.”
C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis
“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”
