I created a new Smashwords profile for my Rod Rey pen name because the old one was created and controlled by my publisher, since at the time, I didn't know about ghost accounts. I wanted to have access to my dashboard and profile settings without having to rely on my publisher to do it every single time, if just for convenience, and they agreed and let me have the old username for my new profile. Unfortunately, my followers couldn't be transferred, hence the link in the bio of the old profile to direct them and everyone else to the new one, as well as a notice about it on the profile picture. I can also now follow accounts on Smashwords, which made me feel bad that I wasn't able to as a ghost account.
